<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Adjunct (part-time) instructors are hired on an as-needed, term-by-term (or per course) basis. By applying for this position, you will be joining the part-time instructional pool for consideration as a prospective adjunct instructor.</p> <p>The OSHA instructor will deliver engaging, compliant coursework on topics such as workplace safety, hazard recognition, injury prevention, and OSHA10 certification. This role includes preparing lessons, facilitating classroom and hands-on training, assessing student performance, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of OSHA regulations.</p> <p>The Adjunct Instructor is directly accountable to the Department Chair for the following duties and responsibilities.</p> <p>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Provide classroom/laboratory instruction in accordance the OSHA curriculum. </li><li>Fulfill contractual obligations during the term. </li><li>Conduct class according to the approved OSHA Compliance program. </li><li>Utilize the approved textbook and/or other instructional materials as approved. </li><li>Be fully prepared and on time. </li><li>Utilize LMS following college policies and procedures. </li><li>Submit attendance confirmation per college policies and procedures. </li><li>Maintain student scores and submit scores at the applicable times to OSHA. </li><li>Support students by engaging them in class, answering questions in a timely manner, and referring them for additional support when necessary. </li><li>Be familiar with and abide by college policies. </li><li>Treat students and colleagues with respect and understanding of differences. </li><li>Assist in development of curriculum as appropriate. </li><li>Complete annual mandatory compliance training. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the department supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Current OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) Construction or General Industry certification. </li><li>Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry certification, completion of OHSA 510 and OSHA 500. </li><li>Demonstrated evidence of professional growth through participation in continuing education and other related activities. </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills required. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Ten (10) years of relevant experience </li><li>Proficiency with teaching technologies, including lecture-capture software, such as Camtasia or Kaltura, and familiarity with web-conferencing software to facilitate synchronous online student support preferred. </li><li>Experience in student engagement techniques preferred. </li><li>All degrees must be from a regionally accredited postsecondary institution. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Classification: Part-Time Adjunct Instructor</p> <p>Grant Funded:N</p> <p>Rate of Pay: $50 per hour.</p> <p>Location: All Campuses; Includes Online</p> <p>Application Deadline: This is a pool of applicants.
