<p>Position Title:</p> <p>Assistant or Associate Professor of Chemistry</p> <p>Department/School:</p> <p>School of Science</p> <p>Salary/Pay Rate:</p> <p>$75,000 - $90,000</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry, & Physics at Marist University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Chemistry starting Fall 2026. The Department's academic mission is immeasurably enriched by an inclusive community in which diverse perspectives are respected and valued. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in undergraduate teaching and the ability to establish an active research program involving undergraduates. Teaching duties will be in the successful candidate's area of interest as well as foundation chemistry courses as needed. The candidate will also play a key role in helping to maintain the department's ACS-approved curriculum. Academic advising, committee service, and active contributions to the growth and development of the Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry, & Physics at Marist University are also expected.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>Doctoral degree in Chemistry or closely related field required.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <p>The successful candidate will teach up to seven courses each year. Teaching duties may primarily include foundation chemistry courses, lectures and labs, as well as courses that support Marist's Core curriculum. Additional teaching duties will depend on the successful candidate's area of expertise. The candidate will develop a rigorous research program involving undergraduates. In addition,?the candidate is expected to engage in university-wide service such as participation on committees, advising undergraduates, taking an active part in department growth, keeping the curriculum current, and participating in assessment and ACS-approval activities.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>Previous teaching experience and a commitment to innovative teaching-learning. Strong communications skills.? Postdoctoral or other experience in the field (e.g., in industry). Previous recent research experience, and track record of securing funding.</p> <p>Required Application Documents:</p> <p>Cover letter, curriculum vita, statement of teaching philosophy, description of research plans, and contact details for three professional references. Remains 1% thereafter.</p> </li><li> <p>Typical eligibility requirements: 1 year of service and 1,000 hours with Marist University.</p> </li><li> <p>403(b) Tax Deferred Annuity - Roth option available. Voluntary, up to IRS maximum contribution.</p> </li><li> <p>Tuition Benefits:</p> </li><li> <p>Up to 16 undergraduate credits per semester. Up to 18 graduate credit per academic calendar. Eligibility extends to employee, spouse, and dependent children under age 26.</p> </li><li> <p>University pays 100% tuition only.</p> </li><li> <p>Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester towards tuition at another accredited institution.</p> </li><li> <p>Eligibility requirements including waiting periods and/or employee probationary periods may apply at the discretion of the University.</p> </li></ul> <p>About the Department/School:</p> <p>The Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry, & Physics Department features modern laboratories in addition to updated instrumentation for teaching and research. The School of Science includes three other undergraduate programs in the basic sciences and allied health (Biology, Environmental Science and Policy, Medical Technology) and three graduate programs (MS in Physician Assistant Studies, MS in Athletic Training, and Doctorate of Physical Therapy).</p>
