<p>Student Life at WVU Institute of Technology (Beckley) is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time Behavioral Health Therapist.</p> <p>About the Opportunity</p> <p>The Behavioral Health Therapist will provide direct therapeutic and outreach services to current students through individual and group counseling, as well as programming and workshops during a 12-month period. This position will also serve in an on-call rotation and work with crisis intervention and psychological emergencies.</p> <p>We strongly believe in work-life balance and keeping time for things we love outside our work. Check out retirement health insurance benefits, retirement income, and FAQ's. </li><li>Wellness programs </li></ul> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li>Conduct intakes, evaluations, assessments, consultations, and crisis intervention services to current students Provides direct individual, couples, and group counseling/psychotherapy to students with diverse presenting issues. Maintain current documentation and tasks in EMR </li><li>Provides consultation to clients and families as well as WVU Tech staff and faulty about general mental health issues. </li><li>Completes required documentation and quality assurance activities including routine monitoring and management of student treatment compliance (i.e., missed appointments, cancellations, etc.) in accordance with agency policies and state and federal regulations </li><li>Maintain cultural competency when working with diverse populations on campus Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and FERPA </li><li>Maintain a current WV license to practice (LCSW, LICSW, LPC, etc.) or be eligible for a WV license to practice Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours/weekend emergency services </li><li>Attend center and campus meetings, committee meetings, and other meetings related to the mission of WVU Tech Work collaboratively with campus partners (Student Life, Academic Affairs and Faculty, Athletics, AmeriCorps VISTA, etc.) to develop, implement and deliver workshops, activities, meetings, and outreach to members of the campus community </li><li>Facilitate and support outreach with nonprofit/public sector agencies </li><li>Other duties as assigned by supervisor </li></ul> <p>Work Hours: 20.25 per Week</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree or higher required in Counseling, Social Work, Clinical Psychology, or similar field.</p> </li><li> <p>A minimum of two (2) years of experience involving:</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working with short-term models of counseling and psychotherapy</p> </li><li> <p>Crisis management and intervention skill on a broad range of issues</p> </li><li> <p>Working with young adult populations (18-25)</p> </li><li> <p>Working in the areas of addiction and recovery a plus</p> </li><li> <p>Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.</p> </li><li> <p>All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.</p> </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated knowledge of computer PC systems software including Banner, Microsoft Office, web browsers, social media, etc. </li><li>Strong organizational and problem-solving skills as well as multitask </li><li>Ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound clinical judgement </li><li>Ability to work well on a team </li><li>Strong intervention skills on a broad range of issues </li><li>Communication/Public Relation skills (both oral and written) </li><li>Knowledgeable in student development and leadership </li><li>Good interpersonal skills </li><li>Commitment to effective counseling with a diverse student population that includes students of different racial and ethnic backgrounds, diverse sexual orientation and gender identities, socio-economic status, religious beliefs, and abilities or accessibility </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree </li></ul>
