Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations. Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions. Loads and unloads truck, tarp load when appropriate. </li><li>Conducts Pre-Shift Inspection of Mobile Equipment and documents accordingly. </li><li>Clean up plant areas where assigned, crushing areas, packaging areas etc. </li><li>Keep windshields and mirrors on dump truck clean for safe operation. Keep operator compartments clean and free of debris. </li><li>Perform routine maintenance on dump trucks and bobcat such as fueling, adding oil, lubrication greasing, cleaning. </li><li>Operate Super Vacuum when assigned. Operating the water and/or dump truck. Spotting empty trailers at loading docks with yard truck. Moving loaded trailers from loading docks to trailer yard. </li><li>General plant cleanup, including but not limited to, sweeping with push broom and vacuuming warehouse floors, cleaning hoppers and taking waste to the landfill, picking up trash, cutting/pulling weeds, painting with a paint brush, roller or sprayer, conducting cycle counts (physical inventory) of finished products/raw materials/supplies, filing paperwork, conducting safety audits (looking for unsafe conditions or unsafe acts) and other inspections, assist with data entry, quality analysis and equipment calibrations, Help safety manager prepare safety training and present training to other employees, operating a forklift for the maintenance, production, and shipping departments, attend extra training classes. </li><li>Additional duties as assigned </li><li>High School Diploma or general education (GED) </li><li>1-3 months- related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Current Driver's License Required. </li><li>Upon Hire: Mine Safety & Health Administration New Miner Training, HazCom and ISO training. </li><li>High level of safety and quality </li><li>Ability to multi-task at a fast-pace (at times), work in outside conditions during all seasons, climb multi-levels by stairs & ladders, work from elevated platforms, use hand tools (shovel, hammer, wrenches, etc.) </li><li>Good problem-solving skills </li><li>Mine Safety and Health (MSHA) Knowledge - Preferred </li><li>Forklift experience - Preferred </li><li>Computer Software - Preferred </li><li>Warehouse experience - Preferred </li><li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. </li><li>Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. </li><li>Ability to speak effectively before to employees of the organization. </li><li>Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. </li><li>Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. </li><li>Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. </li><li>Ability to prioritize and plan work activities; Uses time efficiently. </li><li>Must be able to drive company vehicle to pick up parts and supplies. </li><li>Must follow all statutory, regulatory, and organizational procedures to protect the environment from hazardous waste exposure. </li><li>Must follow all Federal and State Safety Regulations, and company safety policies/procedures; Report potentially unsafe conditions; Aid in correcting unsafe conditions; Use equipment and materials properly. </li><li>Ability to learn to operate forklift, dump truck, bobcat, and super vacuum. </li><li>Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated locations. </li></ul> <p>U.S. Silica is a leading producer of industrial minerals essential to modern life.
