<p>General Description: The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek-12 district, is seeking a skilled and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to work at Franklin High School. Key Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with administering first aid to children </li><li>Administer medication in accordance with school policy </li><li>Perform specific medical procedures as prescribed and outlined in the student's health care plan </li><li>Conduct growth and development screenings as mandated by 105 CMR 200.000 </li><li>Confer with supervisor, site administrator, and the school nurse regarding student needs, policies, and procedures </li><li>Substitute for the Van LPN, to ride van to and from school to provide medical monitoring of students, as needed </li><li>Maintain records </li><li>Participate in educational programs designed to increase knowledge and enhance the quality of practical nursing care in the school setting </li><li>Upholds professional standards, the Massachusetts Nursing Practice Act and other state and local statutes and regulations applicable to school nursing practice; and adheres to district policies </li><li>Keeps current with any changes to applicable nursing practices and standards </li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned by the School Principal or School Nurse </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Hold a valid LPN License in the State of Massachusetts </li><li>Experience working with children and youth is preferred </li><li>Able to take initiative and work independently </li><li>Must successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI). </li></ul> <p>Bargaining Unit Agreements: We understand that our collective success depends on the robust exchange of ideas-an exchange that is best when the rich diversity of our perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences flourishes.
