You will ensure that patients receive appropriate meal trays and snacks within specified time frames, and act as liaison with the Diet Office and Nursing personnel to ensure the patients' needs are being met.</p> <p>Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Welcome new patients and orients them to Room Service Program </li><li>Uses Diet Master List to ensure that every patient listed has a menu to be distributed </li><li>Assists patients to make meal selections; place meal order if necessary </li><li>Assemble meal trays and deliver to patients </li><li>Contact patients who did not order a meal on assigned units </li><li>Remove soiled trays, dishes, and silverware from patient rooms </li><li>Maintain a safe and sanitary work area </li><li>Maintain nourishments/supplies on the nursing unit pantry </li></ul> <p>Salary Range: $20.05-24.42/hour</p> <p>This is an "as needed" per diem position; schedule and working hours will vary. May convert to Career.</p> <p>Senate Bill 525 was signed into law by Governor Newsom in October 2023. Starting June 1, 2024, SB525 sets a new $23 minimum wage for nonexempt healthcare workers and raises the exempt employee salary threshold to $1,380/week (equivalent to $5,980/month or $71,760/year).</p> <ol> <li> <p>As defined under SB525, healthcare workers are defined as employees who are involved in the provision of "health care services," which means "patient care-related services including nursing; caregiving; services provided by medical residents, interns, or fellows; technical and ancillary services; janitorial work; housekeeping; grounds keeping; guard duties; business office clerical work; food services; laundry; medical coding and billing; call center and warehouse work; scheduling; and gift shop work; but only where such services support patient care".</p> </li><li> <p>Employees (career, contract, student, per diem) in the UCLA Health medical facilities (e.g. Ronald Reagan Medical Center, Santa Monica UCLA Hospital, Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital, etc.) meet these criteria.</p> </li></ol> <p>Job Qualifications</p> <p>Press space or enter keys to toggle section visibility</p> <ul> <li>Able to read and write standard English. </li><li>Ability to perform basic arithmetic. </li><li>Ability to follow standardized recipes. </li><li>Knowledge of general and nutrient modified diets. </li><li>Ability to work in standing position for a long period of time; stretch, bend, walk, stoop, and reach repetitively. </li><li>Ability to work in hot , cold and/or wet areas, lift (40) pounds, push loaded carts weighing (350) pounds. </li><li>Ability to conform to dress code. </li><li>Ability to work in a non-smoking environment. </li><li>Ability to practice safe food handling techniques. </li><li>Must have good hygiene. </li><li>Must have the ability to adjust to fluctuating work load and adhere to production schedules. </li><li>Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with co-workers, customers, supervisors and managers. </li></ul> <p>As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts a conditional offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct; received notice of any allegations or are currently the subject of any administrative or disciplinary proceedings involving misconduct; have left a position after receiving notice of allegations or while under investigation in an administrative or disciplinary proceeding involving misconduct; or have filed an appeal of a finding of misconduct with a previous employer.</p>
