<p>Job Description:</p> <p>BASIC FUNCTION:</p> <p>To be a part of the University Recreation Department and aid in providing opportunities for students to be active, be healthy and belong. To administer a Club Sport Program that supports the health and well-being of the students at Salve Regina University. This is a part-time, 25-hours per week, 9-months per year, Academic Year position.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Desire to create and support an inspiring and inclusive range of club sport programming aimed at fulfilling student's wants and needs for physical recreation. </li><li>When needed, assist with the recruitment, hiring and training of club sport coaches. </li><li>Assist coaching staff with tryout procedures and roster management. </li><li>Advise students on best practices of student leadership. </li><li>Serve as a liaison between Student Government Association and Club Sport Executive Boards. </li><li>Collaborate with Coaches and Student Leadership on equipment, facility and support needs. </li><li>Maintain conference memberships. </li><li>Meet regularly with club sport treasurers to manage fundraising budgets. </li><li>Work with Office of Public Safety and authorized partners to provide transportation for teams as appropriate. </li><li>Participate in Club Sport Informational Meetings and Campus Engagement Fairs. </li><li>Work with the business office to ensure timely billing of participation dues. </li><li>Continually monitor waivers and forms to ensure in keeping with university standards. </li><li>Utilize technology and institutional platforms in the documentation of records and support of programs. </li><li>Support student groups in providing a robust social media presence that is in line with the university's brand and mission. </li><li>Work closely with local community agencies to acquire appropriate facilities for practices and competition. </li><li>Maintain master practice and competition schedule of all club sports teams. </li></ul> <p>OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as a coach, instructor or monitor as needed to ensure the proper continuation of programming. </li><li>Provide support to a variety of programs within the Recreation Department to include but not limited to: Intramurals, fitness classes, excursions </li></ul> <p>LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Certification in First Aid and CPR is required. </li></ul> <p>ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li>This position may involve working in a variety of temperatures and climates, on a variety of surfaces. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree, preferably in physical education, recreation, wellness or related field. </li><li>Experience in data management and reporting. </li><li>Understanding of the value of diverse representation in team sports. </li><li>Must be willing to work nights and weekends to support program needs. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities, exhibit sound judgement to make decisions in line with the Department's goals and objectives. </li><li>2 years related experience, preferably at the collegiate level in, assisting with administration of recreation, intramural or wellness programs. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in coaching or mentoring student-athletes. </li><li>2+ years related experience, preferably at the collegiate level, assisting with administration of recreation, intramural or wellness programs. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Salve Regina University strives to provide equal opportunity in employment and education to all employees, students and applicants.
