are not limited to Supports all IH Industrial Hygienist and Manager levels above this position in conducting more complex building science andor industrial hygiene & safety assessmentsSupports IH Industrial Hygienist and Manager levels above this position in performing the preparation and collection of samples and data including setting up equipment and documenting observationsAnalyzes previous building science andor industrial hygiene & safety surveys to determine if additional sampling is required or to prepare scope of servicesIndependently performs field assessments where problems encountered are generally well understood and easily identified May direct project teams assigning tasks based on members skills and experience levelCollects environmental and personal samples for analysis and prepares samples for shipment to laboratory for analysisMaintains calibrates and operates building science and industrial hygiene instruments and equipmentCompiles and provides summary of analytical data as well as organizes data for reports and drafts full report with FindingsConclusions and RecommendationsAssists with implementing strategies IH standards administrative controls and personal protective equipment requirements that aim to control and minimize workplace hazardsPerforms air sampling noise level monitoring and other environmental testing activities that measure the concentration of pollutants or hazardous agents in the workplace and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standardsMaintain working knowledge of state and federal regulationsTravel to client sites including overnight stays periodically as neededPerform other related duties as neededCommunicate effectively with Senior ProjectProject Managers staff clients and contractorsFollow Atlas directives and standardsPractice and maintain a safe working environmentMinimum requirements High School Diploma or bachelors degree preferred in environmental science environmental studies industrial hygiene occupational health and safety public health project management construction or related field and 3 5 years of experience as an industrial hygiene technicianValid drivers license must meet qualifications to successfully complete Drug Alcohol Testing Must be able to wear a respirator safety harness and other personal protective equipment as neededAblewilling to conduct asbestosleadmold remediation monitoring projects asbestosleadmold surveys andor exposure monitoring and specialized industrial hygiene projectsAsbestos Lead and 40 hr HAZWOPER certification preferredAble to work outside of normal business hours on occasionTechnical requirements Knowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsBackground in Industrial Hygiene and Building Science related practicesDetail oriented with strong analytical and creative problem solving skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsUnderstanding of billable time project and office budgetingOther miscellaneous qualities Strong problem solving workload management and organizational skills with limited supervisionProfessional self motivated team player with strong collaboration
