<p>The University of Iowa Health Care Downtown Campus is seeking a 100% Clinical Technician I to work in the Endoscopy Department.</p> <p>GENERAL CLASS DESCRIPTION:</p> <p>Under direct supervision, operates and maintains specialized equipment for use in tests and studies related to patient treatment and staff teaching.</p> <p>CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Prepares area and materials for patient testing, requiring knowledge of medical equipment and its proper usage. </li><li>Performs routine technical measurements using specialized medical equipment to determine changing conditions of a patient. </li><li>Records and maintains information obtained during equipment tests to facilitate interpretation of the data and meet established equipment review guidelines/protocols. </li><li>Distributes information to appropriate areas and personnel. </li><li>Performs routine maintenance of equipment to ensure operational condition at all times. </li><li>Assists in training new personnel to operate and maintain equipment. </li><li>Assembles emergency trays and accessory equipment. </li><li>Escorts patients to examination rooms. </li><li>Assists higher-level staff in performance of their duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, patients, and the public. </li><li>Ability to follow oral and written instructions. </li><li>Ability to collect data and maintain accurate records. </li><li>Ability to operate and perform routine maintenance on various types of medical equipment. </li></ul> <p>Monday -Friday 0700-1530, no weekends or Holidays.
