<p>Employment Type:</p> <p>Full time</p> <p>Shift:</p> <p>Description:</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Maintains orientation program, which is current with the standards of clinical practice in the endoscopy setting and implements it for all new staff. </li><li>Acts as a liaison between new staff, current employees and the Director </li><li>Develops and coordinates educational activities of the department including continuing education of staff members and orientation of staff to new equipment/procedures. </li><li>Acts as resource person in such areas as policies and procedures, SGNA standards and other clinical topics, regulatory requirements (Joint Commission, OSHA) and suggests updates to policies and procedures as needed. </li><li>Acts as professional role model and assists staff (especially preceptors) in professional development. </li><li>Supports and participates in departmental Performance Improvement projects. </li><li>Coordinates BLS, ACLS and PALS training of department staff. </li><li>Coordinates point of care testing competencies for Endoscopy staff </li><li>Actively participates in meetings and on inter-, intradepartmental, and external committees as assigned. </li><li>Coordinates and implements plan for competency evaluation of Endoscopy staff. </li><li>Routinely performs procedures in the Endoscopy area maintaining a high level of visibility and interaction with both staff and physicians. </li><li>Serves as a resource and role model in clinical practice </li><li>Participates in the development, implementation and review of policies and procedures that guide and support Endoscopy </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:</p> <ul> <li>Possession of a current or compact state license as a registered nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa. </li><li>Bachelor's Degree </li><li>SGNA membership encouraged. </li><li>Basic Life Support certified within six (6) weeks of hire.
