This is a benefits-eligible role.</p> <p>About Our Clinic</p> <p>We provide comprehensive dental services for children from birth to age 20, including those with Medicaid and uninsured low-income families. Our team proudly participates in the annual Give Kids A Smile program and leads community outreach efforts focused on early detection of childhood caries. Through grants from the Delta Dental Foundation and NC DHHS, we're able to provide more than 8,000 preventative visits at no cost each year.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Direct Patient Care</p> <ul> <li>Perform dental hygiene procedures </li><li>Take and process radiographs </li><li>Prepare and dismiss patients </li><li>Follow all infection control and sterilization protocols </li><li>Apply sealants, fluoride varnish, and silver diamine fluoride </li></ul> <p>Education & Training</p> <ul> <li>Provide guidance and learning opportunities for rotating dental, dental hygiene, and dental assisting students </li></ul> <p>Team Collaboration</p> <ul> <li>Contribute to a supportive, team-centered environment </li><li>Partner with the entire WCHS Dental Clinic team to deliver high-quality patient care </li></ul> <p>Community Outreach</p> <ul> <li>Participate in outreach events such as Give Kids A Smile and other initiatives promoting oral health </li></ul> <p>Professional Growth</p> <ul> <li>Stay current with evolving dental techniques, materials, and infection control standards (CDC, OSHA, and other regulatory bodies) </li></ul> <p>NOTE: Upon acceptance of employment you acknowledge that (i) if you work in the Health Clinics and Public Health Division, influenza immunization is a condition of initial and continued employment, subject to compliance with federal law, (ii) actively supports and participates in department emergency preparedness and response activities, which may include temporary changes in responsibilities and working hours.</p> <p>About Our Team</p> <p>At the heart of the Wake County Public Health department is a dedicated team of professionals committed to protecting and improving the health of our community.
