<p>VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT</p> <p>GRAHAM COUNTY SCHOOLS</p> <p>Position</p> <p>Exceptional Children's Behavior Liaison</p> <p>Location</p> <p>District wide position</p> <p>Months Employed</p> <p>10-month position, evaluated annually</p> <p>Type of Position</p> <p>Certified</p> <p>Type of Posting</p> <p>Internal applicants should submit a letter of interest.</p> <p>External applicants should complete the application online.</p> <p>Date of Posting</p> <p>Thursday, April 10, 2025</p> <p>Closing Date of Posting</p> <p>Until filled</p> <p>Nature of Work</p> <p>Graham County Schools is seeking a dedicated Exceptional Children's Behavior Liaison who will support students with disabilities by implementing effective behavioral interventions and foster a positive learning environment.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Collaborates with educators to create behavior intervention plans tailored to individual student needs. </li><li>Performs functional behavior assessments to identify underlying causes of behavioral challenges. </li><li>Works directly with students to reinforce positive behaviors and address issues as they arise. </li><li>Offers training to staff and parents on behavior management techniques. </li><li>Serves as a consultant to ensure consistent implementation of interventions. </li><li>Maintains accurate records of behavioral incidents and interventions. </li><li>Analyzes data to assess the effectiveness of behavior plans and makes necessary adjustments. </li><li>Participates in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and parent conferences. </li><li>Stays current with best practices, instructional strategies, and legal requirements. </li><li>Participates in school-based and district-level professional development. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Strong time management and organizational skills. </li><li>Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and students. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field. </li><li>North Carolina Teaching License in Special Education (or eligibility for licensure). </li><li>Knowledge of IDEA, NC Policies Governing Services for Children with Disabilities, and IEP compliance requirements. </li><li>Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. </li><li>Experience with a variety of disabilities, including learning disabilities, behavioral disorders, autism, and intellectual disabilities preferred. </li></ul> <p>Salary</p> <p>State Salary Schedule</p> <p>Application Process</p> <p>All qualified internal candidates are invited to apply for the position by submitting a Letter of Intent to: Kim Beasley at Central Office.</p> <p>Process Timeline</p> <p>Vacancy posted 04/10/2025</p> <p>Deadline for Application Submissions Until Filled</p> <p>Interviews Anticipated 05/01/2025-05/05/2025</p> <p>Board of Education Candidate Decision Anticipated on 05/06/2025</p> <p>Assume Duties August 2025</p> <p>For more information regarding the application process</p> <p>Please contact Kim Beasley for application process questions.
