<p>Nature of Work</p> <p>This position will cover counties: Barbour, Gilmer, Lewis, Randolph, Tucker and Upshur.</p> <p>This is a professional position within the Office of Maternal, Child and Family Health (OMCFH) HealthCheck Program. The HealthCheck program is Medicaid's pediatric prevention program for children birth through 20 years of age and also referred to as West Virginia's Early Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) services. The incumbent provides administrative services to Medicaid providers that deliver EPSDT services in an assigned region of the State. Program specialists are responsible for visiting all HealthCheck primary care provider sites in the assigned region, provide providers with necessary tools and knowledge to carry out EPSDT services that meet reasonable aspects of the program. The incumbent provides technical assistance and managerial support to assist HealthCheck primary care providers serve Medicaid approved children in keeping with the American Academy of Pediatrics Bright Futures guidelines. Promotes the medical home approach to providing comprehensive primary care; assists with the efforts to educate Medicaid members and providers any Medicaid redesigns or updated policies, the value of preventive health services and cost-effective methods; and assists with the Governor's Kids First Initiative by providing technical assistance and support to local representatives of other Bureau for Public Health organizations, other agencies, and local community organizations that serve children in an assigned region. Extensive travel is required and a State car could be assigned for work-related travel to pediatric provider offices. To receive an email notice anytime jobs in this or other categories are posted, you may choose to complete aJob Interest Cardfrom the slide-out menu located at the top left of ourJob Opportunitiespage.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Training: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.</p> <p>Substitution:Additional experience as described below may be substituted for the required training on a year-for-year basis.</p> <p>Experience:Two (2) years full-time, equivalent part-time paid or volunteer experience in a technical or program area that is related to the area of employment.</p> <p>Substitution:Post-graduate education in a field related to the area of employmentmay be substituted for the required experience on the basis of fifteen semester hours for one (1) year of experience.</p> <p>OR</p> <p>Master's degree in social work from a regionally accredited social work programfrom a regionally accredited college or university.</p> <p>Note: Appointment above the entry rate may be made at 5% for each six (6) months of successfully completed work as an intern in a practicum placement with the Department of Health and Human Resources for the Master of Social Work degree.</p> <ul> <li>The Division of Personnel uses your complete work history to qualify you for positions.
