<p>About this role:</p> <p>Wells Fargo is seeking a Vice President in the Biotech sector. Primary responsibilities include conducting the fundamental equity research process for the purpose of providing differentiated industry and stock-specific content, including building and maintaining financial forecasts and stock recommendations for our institutional investor client base. Critical to the role will be communicating research findings to both internal stakeholders and our institutional investor client base via consistent dialogue. We focus on our clients' overall financial needs, with consideration and respect for their total relationship with Wells Fargo.</p> <p>The Vice President will:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate subject matter knowledge within the Biotech sector and a strong understanding of the companies within the sector </li><li>Conduct rigorous analysis of financial statements and industry, company, and market data sets </li><li>Create and update financial models and databases </li><li>Author, with Senior Analyst, differentiated research content on companies and industry themes </li><li>Attend company and industry events; cultivate relationships with covered companies and industry contacts </li><li>Communicate research conclusions to internal and external constituents </li><li>Collaborate with research peers to support the generation of cross-sector research content </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of Securities Research experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A PhD </li><li>3+ years experience within equity research industry - Biotech. </li><li>Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important </li><li>Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment </li><li>Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including high level of proficiency in modeling </li><li>Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills </li><li>Strong writing skills and attention to detail </li><li>Knowledge and understanding of financial statement analysis </li><li>Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles in the capital markets industry </li><li>Knowledge and understanding of investment tools such as Bloomberg or FactSet application </li><li>Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills </li></ul> <p>Job Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Up to 10% travel </li><li>Registration for FINRA SIE must be completed within 180 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted. </li><li>Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 180 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted. </li><li>Registration for FINRA Series 86 must be completed within 180 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted. </li><li>Registration for FINRA Series 87 must be completed within 180 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted. </li><li>This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check.
