Buffett, acquired Precision Castparts Corp.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>Plan and organize shift operations in VIM/VAR/ESR/Refractory Departments. Maintain safe working conditions and economical operations. Lead and direct personnel in all Melt Shop Operations. Provide training.</p> <p>This is a 2nd shift Role; 3:30pm-11:30pm</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Responsible and accountable for communicating company goals/objectives/priorities to all personnel (salary and hourly) as required </li><li>Responsible and accountable for training and development of personnel </li><li>Responsible and accountable for communicating and enforcing company rules and regulations </li><li>Responsible for continuing involvement in safety effort, safety contacts and prompt accident investigations. </li><li>Responsible for interdepartmental cooperation </li><li>Basic shift operations on shift </li><li>Make sure proper procedures are followed </li><li>Make sure schedules are followed </li><li>Assist in any function to keep operation running </li><li>Assign manpower to job assignments </li><li>Help people in job assignments </li><li>Make sure people are working and in a safe manner </li><li>Assist in training of old and new jobs </li><li>Make sure each VIM melt is processed according to manufacturing requirements </li><li>Make sure each VIC/ESR melt is processed according to manning requirements </li><li>Maintain proper processing of remelt cutting, RCM grinding, Hand grinding, and Inspection </li><li>Troubleshooting problems with people involved in operation and make decisions on how to repair or correct problems </li><li>On major decisions, discuss and coordinate with Superintendents </li><li>Work with other supervisory personnel in keeping plant clean and enforcing plant and OSHA safety rules </li><li>Check melt sheets for all pertinent information (complete and accurate) </li><li>Check Spectro results. If problems arise, decide on corrective action. If melt is out of specification, contact product metallurgist for customer specification and anything that can be done to save melt. Contact Melting Superintendent with all information and decide on further processing of melt. </li><li>Receive information from previous shift foreman from each department and pass on information to foreman on relieving shift. </li><li>Maintain company policy and ensure contract rules are followed. </li><li>Coordinate flow of material between Bar Mill for VIC/ESR processing and melting. </li><li>. </li></ul> <p>Additional Responsibilities</p> <p>o Oral communication skills sufficient to instruct, direct and resolve conflicts with and between employees</p> <p>o Written skills for internal correspondence, writing or revising procedures;</p> <p>o Reading comprehension sufficient to read, interpret and properly</p>
