<p>Job Description:</p> <p>CONTRACT TYPE: Semester based.</p> <p>Job Description: The Department of English, Communications and Media seeks eligible student-centered adjunct instructors to teach undergraduate courses in Literature, Creative Writing, and/or courses in our first-year writing program. Possible course assignments include British Literature (various periods), Literary Nonfiction, Intro to Creative Writing, College Writing & Research; other courses may become available. Appointments are made on a semester-by-semester basis (fall/spring) with hiring decisions made in late spring/early summer for the fall semester and early fall for the spring semester. Adjuncts may be eligible to teach up to 2 courses per semester.</p> <p>Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and teach in-person, on-campus sessions weekly for up to 25 students, following a course syllabus submitted at the start of the semester to the department chair. </li><li>Develop engaging assignments, implement active learning strategies, and utilize process-based pedagogy in writing classrooms. </li><li>Grade and return student assignments in a timely manner, providing meaningful feedback to help students develop as readers, writers and thinkers. </li><li>Post syllabus, assignments and other course information to our Learning Management System, Canvas.
