We have set ambitious and rigorous goals to ensure students graduate prepared to transform the world.</p> <p>Our district includes 13 elementary schools (including an interdistrict magnet school for International Studies), three middle schools (including a STEM and World Studies magnet), and the Danbury Career Academies, which provide innovative pathways supported by faculty with both academic and real-world experience. DPS recruits and supports educators with passion who are aligned with our vision to advance all learners to their highest potential.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The School Psychologist supports the intellectual, social, emotional, and behavioral development of students through a range of services including assessment, consultation, intervention, and collaboration with school staff and families. The role is essential in helping students overcome barriers to learning and succeed in school.</p> <p>Responsibilities Include:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct psychological evaluations for students referred for academic, behavioral, or emotional concerns </li><li>Administer and interpret appropriate assessment tools </li><li>Prepare comprehensive written reports and share results with families and school teams </li><li>Collaborate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) </li><li>Provide counseling, behavioral intervention, and crisis support </li><li>Consult with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success </li><li>Support development of Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans </li><li>Participate in Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings and other team-based supports </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements - Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in psychological assessment methods and data interpretation </li><li>Ability to support diverse learners, including students with disabilities and English learners </li><li>Experience with counseling and behavior management </li><li>Knowledge of child development and trauma-informed practices </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Familiarity with Connecticut and federal special education regulations </li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to confidentiality </li></ul> <p>Preferred Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in a school or clinical setting </li><li>Bilingual or multilingual preferred </li><li>Experience working with culturally and economically diverse students </li></ul> <p>Education/Certification Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Master's or Sixth Year Degree in School Psychology or related field </li><li>Must hold or be eligible for Connecticut certification as School Psychologist (070) </li></ul> <p>Salary:</p> <p>Salary and benefits are in accordance with the current agreement between the Danbury Board of Education and the NEA-Danbury.</p> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <p>Apply online at: www.danbury.k12.ct.us</p> <p>Please include a resume, cover letter, certification, transcripts, and three (3) current letters of recommendation.</p>
