Act as a lead and/or technical resource to SCADA engineer 1, 2, and 3.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assist in the SCADA design of RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) architectures and systems to support numerous grid-connected initiatives and projects, including the creation and modifications to RTU designs, configurations, and points list implementations. </li><li>Coordinate with various engineering disciplines, project engineers/managers, and customer representatives to finalize SCADA point lists based on anticipated requirements. </li><li>Work with database analysts, business system analysts, and advanced application teams to ensure the remote data requirements are completely and accurately implemented into the OSI Monarch EMS/SCADA system. </li><li>Develop complete SCADA designs utilizing standardized engineering methods. </li><li>Assist in the design, development, and evaluation of systems, processes, or facilities to support company objectives utilizing engineering methods. </li><li>Assist in the development of moderately complex engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments. </li><li>Deliver on commitments, performing site visits and coordinating with field personnel when necessary to accomplish assigned work. </li><li>Maintain project timeliness and budgets. </li><li>Train and mentor level 1 SCADA engineers. </li><li>Recommend alternative engineering solutions to senior engineers/management to meet business needs. </li><li>Deliver on commitments to accomplish assigned work. </li><li>Assist in analyzing and developing standard engineering methods, when requested. </li></ul> <p>In addition to the above, the Level 3 responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Lead in the SCADA design of numerous RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) architectures to support various ongoing projects, including creation or modifications to RTU designs, configurations, and points list implementations. </li><li>Develop complex engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, and design documents. </li><li>Develop alternative engineering solutions (with management direction) to meet business needs. </li><li>Act as a lead in the work group; train and mentor level 1 and 2 SCADA engineers. </li></ul> <p>In addition to all the above, the Level 4 responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Act as a lead expert in the work group; train and mentor level 1, 2, and 3 SCADA engineers. </li><li>Assist in the development of engineering standards based on sound engineering principles and methods to support evolving company needs and objectives. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience. (Typically four years of additional related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a Bachelor's degree. A minimum of two years additional directly-related technical experience is required.) </li><li>A minimum of three years of directly-related experience in an engineering field. </li><li>Applied knowledge of electric grid energy management systems or similar for the purpose of configuring and engineering SCADA systems used for electric grid monitoring, protection, and control. </li><li>Knowledge and application of principles in area of SCADA engineering. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations. </li><li>Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness. </li><li>Ability to provide timely assessments with limited information and/or assumptions. </li><li>Proficient with the use of personal computers and automated tools. </li><li>An on-site presence is required to perform collaborative functions of the position. </li></ul> <p>In addition to the above, the Level 3 requirements include:</p> <ul> <li>A minimum of five years of directly-related experience in an engineering field. </li><li>Advanced knowledge of electric grid energy management systems or similar for the purpose of configuring and engineering SCADA systems used for electric grid monitoring, protection and control. </li></ul> <p>In addition to the above, the Level 4 requirements include:</p> <ul> <li>A minimum of ten years of directly-related experience in an engineering field. </li><li>Expert-level knowledge of electric grid energy management systems or similar for the purpose of configuring and engineering SCADA systems used for electric grid monitoring, protection and control. </li></ul> <p>Preferences</p> <p>Engineering experience specific to industrial power systems or electric utility power systems.</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>Req Id: 113831</p> <p>Company Code: Pacificorp</p> <p>Primary Location: SALT LAKE CITY</p> <p>Department: Power Delivery</p> <p>Schedule:Days</p> <p>Personnel Subarea: Exempt</p> <p>Hiring Range: $90,200-$ 154,400</p> <p>Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without an accommodation.</p> <p>At PacifiCorp, we encourage everyone to work together.
