<p>Description</p> <p>Job Overview:</p> <p>The President of MarWest Commercial will lead the expansion efforts of sourcing new association/property management contracts in multiple states, have direct responsibility of managing to expectations agreed upon within the annual Performance Agreement, with the intent of growing EBITDA year-over-year, managing Association/Property Manager team leaders including interaction with Board of Directors and Unit Owners they serve. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with FirstService departments such as IT, HR, Legal and Corporate Accounting to ensure the business is appropriately managed/supported in these matrix organizations. Further, the President will work with the Client Accounting Controller to insure all property level financial reporting is accurate and timely. As a member of FirstService West Region Leadership Team, this person is a believer in and an active supporter of FirstService philosophies and culture in respect to staff, clients, and community that advances the FirstService brand in terms of image, reputation, differentiation, and professionalism. The President of MarWest Commercial will report to the President, FirstService Residential California.</p> <p>Compensation: $200K - $225K Plus Bonus</p> <p>FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <p>The job duties listed are typical examples of the work performed by positions in this job classification. Not all duties assigned to every position are included, nor is it expected that all positions will be assigned to every duty.</p> <p>People:</p> <ul> <li>Engaged executive presence with team in scope of role </li><li>Build strong relationships of trust with internal (i.e., peers and support teams) team. </li><li>Maintains a positive, cohesive work environment to attract and retain top level leaders throughout the organization. </li><li>Build a highly functioning team of leaders through performance management, succession planning, coaching, mentoring, and leading by example. </li><li>Ability to clearly communicate, motivate and inspire others to reach company vision. </li><li>Promote the use and utilization of company resources to maintain or exceed associate satisfaction. </li><li>Partner with the Human Resources department and assist with recruiting, hiring, payroll approval, coaching and developing, and performance management processes for associates. Maintain working knowledge of company Human Resource policies, programs and initiatives. </li><li>Partner with the Human Resources department on all associate relations issues to ensure operational integrity and client service levels are maintained. </li><li>Lead and contribute to an inclusive work environment where all feel valued. </li></ul> <p>Growth and Strategy</p> <ul> <li>Positively contribute to sales and EBITDA goals </li><li>Provide overall executive leadership and strategic direction for the Commercial Management Division. This includes frequent interaction with association managers, business leaders, existing clients, prospective new clients, FirstService affiliates and FirstService Residential senior leaders. </li><li>Responsible for annual business plan - driving financial performance to achieve targeted performance margins as identified in business plan. </li><li>Provides year-end input to corporate budget and in particular, to those line items within area of responsibility. </li><li>Maintain client retention goals as outlined in business plan. </li><li>Develop and implement strategies that promote the organization's mission, core values and global service standards. </li><li>Identify client opportunities with new and existing clients. In partnership with Business Development and Marketing, support and participate in client presentations that lead to generating new business. </li><li>Drive business improvement and compliance through new or enhanced technology/processes. Influence stakeholders and teams to adopt changes including communication plans related to key initiatives. </li><li>Commits to attending and leading in certain circumstances all designated company meetings and events within areas of responsibility; including supervisor meetings, team meetings, client meetings and others that may arise from time to time. </li><li>Build and support the organizational culture that drives passion for continuous improvement and development throughout the company. </li><li>Works collectively with the regional leadership on strategies to effect and implement new company procedures, policy changes, etc. </li><li>Drives and supports the launch of new clients into the company's operations both prior to effective date of new contract and up through an established onboarding process. </li></ul> <p>Operations:</p> <ul> <li>Follows regional and/or national policies and operational protocols. </li><li>Implement best practices, innovation, creative thinking, and employment of business practices throughout the company. </li><li>In a growing and evolving culture of change, lead and participate as an Executive Sponsor for Regional or National initiatives. </li><li>Manage and direct regional leaders (Vice Presidents, Regional Managers, and Support Teams) to ensure the company's operational priorities are aligned with the company policy, legal guidelines and long-term goals of growth. </li><li>Promote the consistent use of all company tools and resources to exceed client and vendor satisfaction. </li><li>Encourage participation in at least one outside committee. For example, NAIOP or CREW. </li><li>Adheres to all company policies and guidelines. </li><li>Reviews and approves direct report expense reimbursables. </li><li>Review and approves operational expenses as required through regional/national policies. </li><li>Work with key vendors/partners to find new products and services that benefit our clients </li><li>Have a solid understanding of Association laws and may be required to obtain broker licenses in multiple states </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Skills & Qualifications:</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.</p> <ul> <li>Strong ethical practices. </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Strong internal/external customer relations skills required with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, associates, vendors and other stakeholders. </li><li>Organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task, implement, and monitor progress for successful completion. </li><li>Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment meeting deadlines. </li><li>Demonstrates attention to detail. </li><li>Demonstrates awareness of variables which could affect associate retention and/or morale, for both clients and associates. </li><li>Demonstrates reliability and dependability to support daily operations, company meetings, client meetings and/or other activities. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to train, develop and educate associates. </li><li>Proficient in daily use and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, and Teams. </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Must possess a college degree; or equivalent industry experience. </li><li>Preferred to possess a licensed California Real Estate Broker; may need to obtain additional licenses for other regions in which MarWest performs third party property management </li><li>Has a minimum of 5 years' experience in an executive leadership role within commercial property management and preferably within the niche of commercial association management </li><li>5+ years of proven leadership skills and ability to lead large teams at an executive level or greater. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements & Working Environment:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Schedule is subject to change based on business needs.</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities:</p> <p>Manage 5-10 direct reports that ensure regional daily operations adhere to company policies, best practices and delivers a high level of client and associate satisfaction. Direct reports could include, but are not limited to: Vice Presidents, Management Leadership Group within all states operating within, POD Manager, Executive Assistant (if any) and other positions as deemed appropriate.</p> <p>Tools & Equipment Used:</p> <ul> <li>General Office Equipment </li></ul> <p>Travel:</p> <ul> <li>Travel time of up to 10%.
