<p>CNC Programmer / Tool Designer</p> <p>BUSINESS: Leslie Controls, Inc</p> <p>LOCATION: Tampa, FL</p> <p>DIRECT REPORTING: Process Engineering</p> <p>FUNCTIONAL REPORTING: Engineering</p> <p>POSITION DETAILS</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>This position will write and optimize CNC programs for various turning and milling machines including multi-axis lathes using G-code and CAM software. Develop the overall programming approach for CNC machinery; establish procedures for setup and operation of machine; as well as for programming. Recommendation of design changes to facilitate optimized CNC machining. Establishment of measured work rates for machining operations either from standard data or by time-study.</p> <p>Principal Activities</p> <ul> <li>Develop CNC programs based on processes laid out by manufacturing engineer </li><li>Help develop processes with operators and manufacturing engineers </li><li>Read and understand GD&T requirements on engineering drawings </li><li>Identify program optimization opportunities in current machine programs </li><li>Knowledge of cutting tool geometries, coatings, and application </li><li>Utilize data bases to create tool lists, part routings, and update established programs </li><li>Create and compile necessary documents to aid setting up machines </li><li>Create tooling and fixturing prints in CAD </li><li>Specify and procure any necessary tooling and fixturing </li><li>Design, modify and fabricate custom tooling and fixturing </li><li>Work with tool manufacturers to improve cost, tool life and thru put </li></ul> <p>CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Knowledge Skills & Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player. </li><li>Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. </li></ul> <p>Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.</p> <p>Education & Experience</p> <ul> <li>Associates Degree in Programming a plus - High School Diploma or GED required. </li><li>Minimum 5 years' experience programming and machining. </li></ul> <p>CAD experience required.</p> <p>CAM experience a plus.</p> <p>CIRCOR is an EEO Employer of Females/Minorities/Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities</p>
