He/She demonstrates that unique and essential function through the framework of C.A.R.E values-compassion, accountability, respect and excellence-with patients, their family members, referring clinicians and the clinical and clerical teams. The Procedure Suite Nurse is a role that supports Interventional Radiology, Cardiology, Vascular Surgery, and Pain Management workflows within the Procedure Suite.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Attending/assisting in patient consultations under the guidance of the Interventionalist. </li><li>Act as the first point of contact for referrals and patients. </li><li>Performing pre, intra, and post procedure patient evaluation, assessment and documentation. </li><li>Make recommendations to the referring physician, patient, and patient's family under the guidance of the Interventionalist. </li><li>Serve as a liaison between the patient, nursing staff, radiology staff, ancillary departments and referring physician. </li><li>Perform daily duties and communicate patient progress to the medical staff and the Interventionalist. </li><li>Orchestrate patient discharge and pharmacy calls; may assist by calling to set up appointments or arrange hospital tests or admissions. </li><li>Completes paperwork including orders: Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, etc. </li><li>Uses a team approach to develop and achieve daily, patient-centered individualized care goals. </li><li>Escort patients to and from exam rooms and readies them for procedure; takes vital signs, records medical history/symptoms, ensures medical chart/lab test results are available and complete. </li><li>Assists Interventional Radiology team with procedures and assists team with cleaning and turnover of the rooms. Stocks procedure and patient examination rooms; cleans and arrange sterilization of instruments for procedures; assists with inventory of medical supplies. </li><li>Assist in maintaining crash cart. </li><li>Checks and restocks medication as necessary. </li><li>Reports all test results to the patient as directed by the Interventional Radiologist. </li><li>Performs OSHA controls as required. Assists in tracking controlled substances in the department. </li><li>Must be able to get along with others, be a team player, accept constructive criticism from your supervisor and be able to follow work rules. </li><li>Serves as a mentor for team members and as a preceptor for new team members. </li><li>Identifies opportunities for innovation and quality improvement; participates in innovation projects and the quality improvement process. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>The Experiences You Bring</p> <p>EDUCATION and / or CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:</p> <ul> <li>Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program. </li><li>Licensed to practice nursing in Illinois. </li><li>Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation recognition (BLS). </li><li>ACLS certification preferred </li></ul> <p>EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>At least 1 year nursing experience: Preferred experience in ICU/ER/Telemetry or Procedural Care (GI, Pain Management, Surgery, Interventional Radiology or Cardiology) </li></ul>
