<p>Coordinator of Educational Innovation</p> <p>Reports To: Principal</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>The Coordinator of Educational Innovation is a dynamic and forward-thinking leader responsible for driving continuous improvement across key aspects of the school's academic program and student experience. This role will oversee and enhance instructional practices, ensure robust student support systems (including 504 accommodations), develop and refine curriculum, and champion data-informed decision-making.</p> <p>In addition, the Coordinator will play a pivotal role in shaping student life by overseeing student-centered programming, including initiatives like the Day of Service and Pillar Dinners. This individual will also serve as the leader and mentor for our team of lead teachers, fostering their growth and leveraging their expertise to elevate teaching and learning throughout the school. This multi-faceted position requires a collaborative spirit, a deep understanding of pedagogical best practices, and a commitment to fostering an innovative and inclusive learning environment for all students and staff.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li>Instructional Practice & Professional Learning: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based instructional strategies across all grade levels and subject areas. </li><li>Observe classrooms, provide constructive feedback, and offer coaching to teachers to enhance their instructional effectiveness. </li><li>Design and facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities for all staff, focusing on innovative teaching methods, differentiation, classroom management, and technology integration. </li><li>Stay abreast of current educational research and trends, translating relevant findings into actionable strategies for school improvement. </li><li>Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and reflective practice among teaching staff. </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>Curriculum Development & Alignment: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Oversee the review, revision, and implementation of a rigorous and relevant curriculum aligned with state standards and school-wide learning goals. </li><li>Ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of curriculum to promote a cohesive and progressive learning experience for students. </li><li>Support departments and individual teachers in developing high-quality unit plans, lesson plans, and assessments. </li><li>Integrate interdisciplinary connections and real-world applications into the curriculum to enhance student engagement and understanding. </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li>Student Supports (504s & Differentiated Instruction): </li></ol> <ul> <li>Lead the school's efforts in effectively implementing and monitoring 504 plans, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and providing appropriate accommodations for students with disabilities. </li><li>Serve as a resource for teachers regarding differentiated instruction strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of all students. </li><li>Collaborate with support staff, counselors, and parents to ensure comprehensive and equitable support for students requiring accommodations or additional interventions. </li><li>Monitor student progress and outcomes related to support plans, adjusting strategies as needed. </li></ul> <ol start="4"> <li>Data-Driven Decision Making: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Champion the systematic collection, analysis, and interpretation of various forms of data (e.g., assessment results, attendance, behavior, demographic information) to inform instructional and programmatic decisions. </li><li>Train staff on effective data analysis techniques and how to use data to identify student strengths and areas for growth, inform intervention strategies, and refine instructional practices. </li><li>Develop clear reporting mechanisms to share data insights with staff, parents, and other stakeholders. </li><li>Use data to evaluate the effectiveness of school programs and initiatives and recommend adjustments. </li></ul> <ol start="5"> <li>Overseer of Student-Centered Programming: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of school-wide student-centered events and initiatives, including, but not limited to, the Day of Service, Pillar Dinners, and other community-building or character-development programs. </li><li>Collaborate with student leadership, faculty advisors, and community partners to develop engaging and impactful programming that aligns with the school's mission and values. </li><li>Ensure that all student-centered activities promote a positive school culture, foster student well-being, and provide opportunities for growth and leadership. </li><li>Manage logistics, resources, and communication for all assigned student programs. </li></ul> <ol start="6"> <li>Leadership of Lead Teachers: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Directly supervise, mentor, and support a team of lead teachers, fostering their leadership skills and content expertise. </li><li>Collaborate with lead teachers to identify school-wide professional development needs and co-plan and deliver relevant training sessions. </li><li>Facilitate regular meetings with lead teachers to share best practices, problem-solve challenges, and align efforts for school improvement. </li><li>Empower lead teachers to serve as instructional coaches and peer mentors within their respective departments or grade levels. </li><li>Coordinate lead teacher efforts to develop and disseminate innovative resources and strategies to the broader teaching staff. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field. </li><li>Valid teaching license/certification; administrative licensure preferred. </li><li>Minimum of 5 years teaching experience, with a demonstrated record of improving student outcomes, preferred. </li><li>Experience in a school leadership role (e.g., department head, instructional coach, team leader). </li><li>Demonstrated growth in curriculum design, instructional best practices, and assessment. </li><li>Strong understanding or willingness to learn that of special education laws and 504 accommodations. </li><li>Proficiency in data analysis and using data to drive instructional decisions. </li><li>Experience in planning and executing school-wide student programs or events. </li><li>Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. </li><li>Ability to inspire, motivate, and collaborate effectively with all stakeholders. </li><li>Proven ability to lead and manage professional learning initiatives, especially from the frame of curiosity, and seeking progression. </li><li>Reflective practitioner </li><li>Coachable </li><li>Competitive salary based upon years of experience (in education, military, or relevant work history) and education level </li><li>Health insurance ICHRA - Marketplace-Based Cafeteria Plan </li><li>Dental - currently Guardian </li><li>Vision - currently Guardian </li><li>$40k employer paid life insurance </li><li>TRF and/or 403b with 6% employer match </li><li>PTO and access to sick bank </li><li>Optional ancillary coverage and additional life insurance through Guardian </li><li>Weight room access </li><li>Childcare on-site </li></ul>
