<p>Position Summary</p> <p>This position is responsible for the security, treatment and general living conditions of all Persons in our Care (PIOC) assigned to the unit and is an administrator responsible for all activities within the unit, including the coordination of all disciplines to address and monitor PIOC activities and well-being, supervision and direction of assigned unit staff, facilitation and evaluation of unit-based work assignments and treatment programs, monitoring, developing and maintain physical plant, and managing the daily unit-based services provided to PIOCs. Furthermore, each unit supervisor is responsible for development and maintenance of a specific institution-wide program and the supervision and direction of the involved and affected staff. This position is also tasked with the development, implementation and monitoring of overall institution goals, policies and procedures as part of the institution management team and the ability to respond and perform in the role of Warden's designee as required.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>This position is in pay schedule and range 81-34 with a starting pay of $48.33/hour - $55.99/hour. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.</p> <p>The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency to employment.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:</p> <ul> <li>Developing, implementing, and evaluating a program (security, treatment, clinical, social services, structured activities, etc.) </li><li>Participating in multi-disciplinary teams or approaches in the development, implementation and review of programs </li><li>Developing, implementing, and evaluating standards, policies, and procedures </li></ul> <p>In addition to the above, well qualified applicants will have experience:</p> <ul> <li>Utilizing general management principals and techniques (Coordinating and organizing teams, allocating resources, planning and defining strategies and goals, etc.) </li><li>Working with unit management concepts and principals (overseeing daily unit operations, managing and ensure meeting of performance targets, improving unit efficiency, etc.) </li><li>Performing supervision or lead worker related activities (assigning, directing, and/evaluating work of staff; disciplinary matters, hiring, etc.) </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>To apply, click on "Apply for Job" to start the application process.
