<p>Akkodis is seeking a Back-End Developer for a Contract with a client in Boston, MA(Hybrid). The ideal candidate will develop secure microservices and build robust REST/gRPC APIs while integrating distributed systems through Kafka-based event pipelines.</p> <p>Rate Range: $41/hour to $49/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.</p> <p>Back-End Developer job responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices and backend services using Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js.</p> </li><li> <p>Build secure, high-performance REST and gRPC APIs with proper standards, versioning, documentation, and observability (metrics, logs, tracing).</p> </li><li> <p>Integrate backend systems with internal/external platforms-including AWS services, MuleSoft, and Kafka event pipelines-using resilient, fault-tolerant patterns.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure quality and security by applying secure coding practices, conducting threat modeling, and maintaining robust API documentation and compliance.</p> </li><li> <p>Support production environments through L2/L3 investigations, root-cause analysis, bug fixes, and cross-team collaboration to improve system reliability and MTTR.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and architectural planning to translate requirements into stable technical solutions.</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.</p> </li><li> <p>5+ years of professional experience developing backend services and production-grade APIs.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong proficiency with Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js for building scalable microservices.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven hands-on experience with REST/gRPC API design, Kafka event streaming, and integrations with platforms such as AWS and MuleSoft.</p> </li></ul> <p>If you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
