We invite you to join our team and experience the continued growth and advancement of the respiratory therapy profession in our world-class institution.</p> <p>A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) variable shifts.</p> <p>A caregiver who excels in this role will:</p> <ul> <li>Perform targeted rounding in active patient areas to recover assets for processing and re-distribution. </li><li>Support Respiratory Therapy in many clinical activities under the direction of a licensed Respiratory Therapist. </li><li>Clean, deliver, evaluate and inspect specified medical devices, such as infusion pumps, syringe pumps, feeding pumps, PCA pumps, DVT pumps, specialty beds, specialty carts and procedural trays. </li><li>Document work activity in an electronic database. </li><li>Stock and take inventory of Respiratory Therapy equipment, supplies and inhaled medications. </li><li>Operate laboratory equipment, perform EKGs and record vital signs. </li><li>Set up and download overnight pulse oximetry trend studies. </li><li>Assist Respiratory Therapists with orders. </li><li>Follow up and assist with administrative duties. </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED </li><li>Akron Caregivers must be a student currently enrolled in an Accredited Respiratory Program <em>Continuing employment is contingent upon the completion of an Accredited Respiratory Program within 5 years of hire.</em> </li><li>Strong background in math and science </li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross within new hire period </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li>Prior healthcare experience </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to walk long distances while pushing a cart of equipment/supplies. </li><li>Must be able to lift equipment in excess of 35 lbs. </li><li>Push/pull loaded carts of equipment in excess of 100 lbs. </li><li>Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. </li><li>Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. </li></ul> <p>Personal Protective Equipment:</p> <ul> <li>Follows standard precautions using personal protection equipment as required by department. </li></ul> <p>Pay Range</p> <p>Minimum hourly: $17.50</p> <p>Maximum hourly: $17.50</p> <p>The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.). The pay range does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic's benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).</p>
