<p>Department</p> <p>BSD RAO - Research Staff</p> <p>About the Department</p> <p>The Department of Radiation and Cellular Oncology at the University of Chicago is renowned for advancing the field of radiation oncology through pioneering new clinical approaches, the use of cutting-edge technologies, and impactful translational research. Our distinguished and diverse team of physicians, scientists, and physicists collaboratively provide exceptional patient care while driving scientific discoveries that shape the future of cancer treatment. This at-will position is wholly or partially funded by contractual grant funding which is renewed under provisions set by the grantor of the contract. Employment will be contingent upon the continued receipt of these grant funds and satisfactory job performance.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Research Technical Assistant prepares experimental materials and subject animals and participates in experimental processes executing standard experimental protocols and performing data management and analysis. As a prototyping and wet work laboratory, the nature of the job is dynamic, demanding meticulous attention to the details of experimental science.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Management and preparation for experiments.</p> </li><li> <p>Cell line maintenance and archive.</p> </li><li> <p>Cell culture and basic molecular biology techniques.</p> </li><li> <p>Scheduled preparation of experimental tumor models in mice.</p> </li><li> <p>Selection, monitoring and treatment of animals with radio/immunotherapy.</p> </li><li> <p>Preparation of mice for experimental procedure.</p> </li><li> <p>Administration and maintenance of anesthesia in mice during experimental procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Moving new experimental protocols through regulatory and administrative hurdles.</p> </li><li> <p>Physical upkeep of laboratory equipment and spaces.</p> </li><li> <p>This job provides technical and administrative support in a laboratory environment performing basic laboratory techniques, research and analysis under direction.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides routine or standardized laboratory duties by collecting data in support of research projects under direct supervision.</p> </li><li> <p>Collects and enters data.
