<p>Position Summary:</p> <p>We are currently hiring a temporary Bilingual (English/Spanish) full time Medical Assistant to work in our School-based health center.</p> <p>The full time temporary assignment will be between 3-6 months.</p> <p>Key Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare examination rooms and equipment. </li><li>Obtain vital signs, chief complaints, medical history and accurately records in medical records. </li><li>Completes referrals and discharges patients. </li><li>Assists providers and nurses during all aspects of exams. </li><li>Assist provider with treatments. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma required. </li><li>Minimum of 1-2 years of related clinical experience required. </li><li>Certification as a Medical Assistant or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant/Registered Medical Assistant (CCMA), required. </li><li>National Phlebotomy Certificate, preferred. </li><li>Bilingual Spanish/English is highly preferred. </li><li>Must have excellent communication skills and ability to provide exceptional experience to patients. </li><li>Understanding of medical terminology, computer skills, and multi-tasking. </li><li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. </li></ul> <p>Starting Compensation: Minimum: $21.00/hour; Maximum: $21.00/hour</p> <p>Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:</p> <p>Onsite in Elmhurst, Queens, 40-hour shift Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30 pm.</p> <p>About Urban Health Plan:</p> <p>At Urban Health Plan (UHP) our mission is to continuously improve the health of communities and the quality of life of the people we serve by providing affordable, comprehensive, quality, primary and specialty health care and by assuring the performance and advancement of innovative best practices.
