<p>Position: Math Interventionist, Title I, Extended Learning Time (ELT)</p> <p>Title I Department / Fletcher-Maynard Academy</p> <p>The Fletcher-Maynard Community:</p> <p>Fletcher Maynard Academy is an inclusive, student-centered elementary school serving students from PreK to Grade 5 in the heart of Cambridge. We are proud of our culturally diverse community and work in partnership with families to close opportunity gaps and support every child's success.</p> <p>Title I Program:</p> <p>Title I is the largest federal aid program in our schools. Title I provides additional resources and instruction to improve the educational performance of low-achieving children in high-poverty schools and supports them in meeting challenging state academic content and performance standards</p> <p>The Opportunity:</p> <p>We are seeking a dynamic and committed educator with strong content and pedagogical knowledge, solid classroom management skills, a deep commitment to educational and racial equity, and experience working in an urban school setting. The math interventionist will be required to collaborate with and plan instruction alongside classroom teachers, provide in-class co-teaching support, work with small groups, work cooperatively with personnel from the OSS Department, and help select appropriate materials for students. The math interventionist will also work directly with the Instructional Coach and principal to support data monitoring and analysis, school improvement, and intervention work. The math interventionist will support the implementation of the Math curriculum.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Skillfully facilitate student learning of math content and practice standards. </li><li>Empower a diverse group of learners via compassionate math instruction. </li><li>Identify unique student needs and collaborate with educator team members to effectively address those needs and improve instructional practice. </li><li>Leverage and support students in using technology. </li><li>Incorporate a variety of teaching and assessment strategies to inform and modify instruction, as well as target intervention and enrichment needs. </li><li>Attend grade-level team meetings with grade-level colleagues as assigned. </li><li>Partner with families to include them in each student's learning and development, guided by a profound understanding of the importance of this connection. </li><li>Attend regular school and department meetings. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by the school principal and/or Title I Coordinator. </li><li>Please note that the Expanded Learning Time program requires an 8-hour and 25-minute workday for this position. </li></ul> <p>Your Skill Set:</p> <p>As the incoming Math Title I Interventionist, you will possess many, though perhaps not all, of the following characteristics and qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Mathematics teaching experience in the elementary grades with a proven track record of promoting high achievement in the classroom. </li><li>Experience writing lesson plans with clear, attainable learning goals and aligned activities. </li><li>Experience using a range of assessments to analyze student learning to inform instruction. </li><li>Understanding of the developmental needs of learners and the strategies to meet those needs through the curriculum. </li><li>Understanding of the difference between a growth and a fixed mindset and how to support the development of a growth mindset in math learners. </li><li>Cultural Proficiency and culturally responsive teaching skills </li><li>Strong classroom management skills. </li><li>Experience leading instruction in urban school settings. </li><li>Strong knowledge of Common Core/ MA Curriculum Framework for Mathematics. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with a diverse staff and student body. </li><li>Bachelor's degree required; Masters in Education strongly preferred. </li><li>Massachusetts Teacher Certification/Licensure in Mathematics required. </li><li>A strong work ethic, alongside a commitment to doing whatever it takes for students to excel. </li></ul> <p>How to Join Our Team:</p> <p>Apply online at www.cpsd.us.
