<p>Technical Writer needed for a contract role in Oak Ridge, TN</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>The primary role of the UPF Startup Technical Writer will be to support the Startup team with Test Packages. To ensure technical editing, graphics, document control, and record management. Provide an understanding of the technical process of the testing documentation and the intent of the testing objective. Work with Testing Engineers to ensure the intent of the package isn't compromised with editorial changes. Provide accurate input to the Startups Lead Technical Writer to prevent delays in testing activities.</p> <p>Major Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Take detailed direction from the Startup Lead Technical Writer for assigned work activities. </li><li>Understanding the Technical process of the testing documents. </li><li>Ensuring quality of functional test instructions. </li><li>Coordinating with the Startup Test Engineers to ensure intent of testing procedures has not been </li><li>compromised. </li><li>Developing and maintaining documentation with project document controls. </li><li>Performing other duties as directed in support of project activities. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor Degree from an accredited university or related field and 3 or more years; in lieu of a </li><li>formal degree, 7 years related experience in startup nuclear power facility experience, DOE construction </li><li>project, or similar; </li><li>Must be a US citizen. </li><li>Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, which includes </li><li>verification of employment and education. </li><li>Must be able to obtain site security badge for access to work site. </li><li>Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: </li><li>Knowledge of principles and practices related to startup testing and commissioning. </li><li>Good knowledge of related construction and engineering practices and the economics involved. </li><li>Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, and design criteria. </li><li>Excellent computer skills </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience preparing and presenting test procedures </li></ul> <p>Employment Pre-requisites</p> <p>The following requirements must be met to be eligible for this position: successful completion of a background investigation, and drug urinalysis.</p> <p>SOC, a Day & Zimmermann company, is an Equal Opportunity Employer, EOE AA M/F/Vet/Disability.</p> <p>#DZFED</p> <p>#INDSOC</p> <p>Estimated Min Rate: $59.50</p> <p>Estimated Max Rate: $85.00</p>
