One should be caring, compassionate and have knowledge of the aspects of surgical procedures. The RN should have a broad knowledge of all age populations, recognizing normal and abnormal presentation of the patient. The Surgical RN will adhere to the AORN standards of care and recommendations.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee and coordinate the care of a patient undergoing a surgical procedure. </li><li>Obtain the necessary supplies and equipment for the surgical procedure, assisting in setting up and maintaining the sterile field </li><li>Administers medication under the direction of healthcare providers. </li><li>Communicates and educates patients and their families, explaining procedures, being a patient advocate, and providing emotional support. </li><li>Documents patient information and maintaines accurate medical records. </li><li>Operates and monitors medical equipment. </li><li>Identifies complications and emergencies and responds swiftly. </li><li>Incorporates Evidence-Based best practice into the daily setting through holistic, quality based with the most up to date research and knowledge. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted. </li><li>Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license. </li><li>Strong clinical assessment and communication skills. </li><li>Proficient in RN moderate sedation responsibilities. </li><li>Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations. </li><li>Flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends. </li><li>Commitment to patient-centered care and a positive birthing experience. </li><li>All successful employees of North Country Hospital follow and adhere to all policies and standards of behavior. </li><li>Certifications: </li><li>Certification In Operating Room (CNOR) - optional but preferred. </li><li>Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within first year of hire </li><li>Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) within second year of hire </li></ul> <p>Pay Information:</p> <p>$32.88 - 43.49 hourly</p>
