<p>Position Overview:</p> <p>Bicara Therapeutics is seeking a hands-on IT Operations Manager to lead and optimize our cloud and on-premises IT infrastructure and service desk operations. As the second IT hire, this role requires both technical expertise and leadership, balancing day-to-day IT operations, service management, and long-term IT growth strategy.</p> <p>Reporting to the Head of Information Technology, the IT Operations Manager will be responsible for maintaining enterprise systems, managing IT service delivery, and ensuring a secure, efficient technology environment. Over time, this individual will play a key role in expanding the IT department, helping to define the technical roadmap and assisting IT leadership in growing the team. We are ideally seeking Massachusetts-based candidates who are able to work a hybrid schedule that includes 3 days per week in our Boston office.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>IT Infrastructure & Hands-On System Administration</p> <ul> <li>Act as a technical lead while managing enterprise systems, network servers, and cloud environments. </li><li>Be actively involved in troubleshooting, system upgrades, and automation efforts. </li><li>Implement and manage tools for endpoint and mobile device management. </li><li>Ensure robust data protection, disaster recovery, and failover processes. </li><li>Automate and streamline IT processes, including onboarding/offboarding, ticket resolution, and infrastructure management. </li><li>Manage IT vendor and SaaS relationships, including service providers for building IT, AV, and network design. </li></ul> <p>Service Desk Management & End-User Support</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the primary IT support resource, resolving escalated technical issues hands-on. </li><li>Oversee end-user computing support across desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and cloud applications. </li><li>Develop IT operational standards, including Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Incident, Problem, Change, and Knowledge Management processes. </li><li>Establish documentation, training programs, and best practices to enhance technical knowledge and user support. </li></ul> <p>Security & Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Ensure compliance with SOX, GITC, and GxP regulatory standards. </li><li>Enforce security best practices, including access controls, data encryption, and endpoint protection. </li><li>Identify and mitigate risks, manage IT change processes, and maintain a secure and resilient IT infrastructure. </li></ul> <p>Strategic Growth & IT Expansion</p> <ul> <li>Partner with the Head of IT to develop the long-term IT strategy and grow the IT department as the company scales. </li><li>Assist in identifying staffing needs, hiring plans, and technical roadmaps to build a world-class IT team. </li><li>Provide technical mentorship and leadership, ensuring IT solutions align with business needs. </li><li>Lead IT projects, balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of hands-on IT experience in system administration, IT operations, and service desk management. </li><li>Strong technical expertise in Windows/Linux servers, VMware, AWS, Office 365, and enterprise SaaS solutions. </li><li>Hands-on experience with networking, cybersecurity, and infrastructure automation. </li><li>Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages for automation and DevOps tasks. </li><li>Proven ability to manage IT vendors, SaaS providers, and service agreements. </li><li>Strong leadership skills, with experience managing IT service delivery and end-user support. </li><li>Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Industry certifications (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, Cisco, ITIL, Security+). </li><li>Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or research-driven environments. </li><li>Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) and ITIL frameworks. </li><li>Experience with cloud security, DevOps methodologies, and infrastructure-as-code. </li></ul> <p>Company Overview</p> <p>Bicara Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company committed to bringing transformative bifunctional therapies to patients with solid tumors.
