<p>Summary of Position</p> <p>A Nurse Practitioner for Premier Physician Network (PPN) provides primary care services, including assessing and managing patients in the center following established standards and practices of the center and PPN.</p> <p>Nature and Scope</p> <ol> <li> <p>Work effectively as part of a team.</p> </li><li> <p>Have excellent patient relation skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Have high productivity.</p> </li><li> <p>Have continuous concern with quality.</p> </li><li> <p>Willingness to follow standard practice of medicine.</p> </li><li> <p>Adhere to office policies and procedures and all Federal, State, and Local billing requirements to include HIPAA Privacy and Security. Must understand and adhere to "incident to" policies.</p> </li></ol> <p>Principal Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <ol> <li>Obtains and documents complete medical history and physical data on patients. </li></ol> </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li> <p>Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate and therapeutic procedures as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs a complete physical exam and records findings.</p> </li><li> <p>Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention. Collaborates with supervising physician.</p> </li><li> <p>Administers medications and injections according to physician direction.</p> </li><li> <p>Sutures minor lacerations.</p> </li><li> <p>Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Provides patient education.</p> </li><li> <p>Triages patient telephone calls and provides consultation.</p> </li><li> <p>Manages medical and surgical emergencies.</p> </li><li> <p>Follows proper cleaning and sterilization of equipment and performs these functions when necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Operates equipment according to policy to achieve the most accurate results. Inspects equipment after each use, promptly notifies manager of malfunctions, problems, or needed repairs when necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides accurate information on all documentation.</p> </li><li> <p>Documents medical records with all patient encounters in the office and on the phone.</p> </li><li> <p>Completes all necessary and/or required forms.</p> </li><li> <p>Works directly with supervising and/or collaborating physician to document and obtain physician signature as appropriate.</p> </li><li> <p>Understands and adheres to "incident-to" and "non-incident-to" service and billing guidelines using proper provider numbers based upon service conditions at all times.</p> </li><li> <p>Exercises HIPAA confidentiality and security measures at all times during office hours and outside of the office.</p> <ul> <li>Note: The description of duties is not intended to be all-inclusive, or limit the discretionary authority of supervisor to assign other tasks with similar responsibility for which the individual has demonstrated competency through performance. </li></ul> </li></ol> <p>Qualifications</p> <ol> <li> <p>BSN required; MSN preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program with active State issued licensure with no restrictions and Certificate to Prescribe.</p> </li><li> <p>Current Ohio licensure as a registered nurse.</p> </li><li> <p>Current Certification in field.</p> </li><li> <p>Current CPR/BCLS, ACLS or PALS certifications</p> </li></ol>
