<p>Salt Lake Community College Parking Services is seeking a dependable and team-oriented individual to join our department as a part-time Parking Enforcer. This position works Monday through Thursday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, averaging 20-25 hours per week.</p> <p>As a Parking Enforcer, you'll play a key role in supporting campus safety and access by patrolling parking areas, issuing citations using a License Plate Recognition (LPR) tablet, and assisting with general parking enforcement efforts. This is an active, outdoor role that involves driving, frequent entering/exiting of a vehicle, and working in a variety of weather conditions. You may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will be reliable, able to work independently, and comfortable using mobile technology. If you're dependable, customer-focused, and ready to make a positive impact on campus, we'd love to hear from you.</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities and Duties</p> <p>The Parking Enforcer is responsible for patrolling assigned parking areas by vehicle to ensure compliance with SLCC parking regulations. This includes issuing citations using a License Plate Recognition (LPR) tablet and mobile phone, identifying and reporting violations or safety concerns, and assisting with general enforcement efforts. The role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions, safely operating a college vehicle, and frequently getting in and out of the vehicle during patrols. The Parking Enforcer maintains accurate records of daily activities and provides courteous assistance to students, staff, and visitors regarding parking rules and campus directions. Additional responsibilities include supporting event parking operations, communicating effectively with the Parking Services team, and upholding a customer-focused and safety-conscious approach in all duties.</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>High School Diploma or equivalent.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Bi-lingual prefer Spanish.</p> <p>One (1) year post-high school education or 1 year training in a related field.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <p>The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of, or willingness to learn, SLCC parking regulations, enforcement procedures, and applicable traffic laws. They must be able to operate a vehicle safely and responsibly in a variety of weather and traffic conditions. Comfort with mobile technology is essential, including the use of LPR tablets and smartphones to issue citations accurately and efficiently. Strong observational skills are required, along with the ability to stay alert while patrolling campus areas.</p> <p>Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills are important for interacting respectfully and helpfully with students, staff, and visitors. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being a reliable and supportive team member, is critical. Candidates should be dependable, punctual, and able to follow both written and verbal instructions.</p> <p>The position requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, frequently enter and exit a vehicle, and perform duties on foot in all types of weather. The candidate must also be able to remain calm, professional, and courteous in potentially stressful or confrontational situations.</p> <p>Non-Essential Responsibilities and Duties Special Instructions</p> <p>Working hours are Monday through Thursday, 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.</p> <p>Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
