<p>Court Name/Organization Michigan Eastern Bankruptcy Court Overview of the Position The Sixth Circuit Judicial Council is soliciting applications from persons interested in appointment as a U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan at Bay City. The position will become vacant due to the retirement of United States Bankruptcy Judge Daniel S. Opperman effective January 8, 2027. United States Bankruptcy Judges exercise highly important judicial powers and responsibilities as officers of the U.S. District Courts.
