Must be available to work additional hours as needed. Modify as needed</p> <p>Who May Apply?</p> <p>Internal City employees only. No external candidates or non-City employees will be considered</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>Marina Dockhand II is responsible for maintaining the routine cleanliness of Marina facilities, grounds, and assisting/supervising the Marina team in performing scheduled preventative maintenance to include marina dock and equipment.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform daily/weekly inspection of all vehicles and equipment to ensure equipment is safe for daily operations </li><li>Assist dockhands with daily facilities routine cleaning </li><li>Perform carpentry related duties such as replacing deck boards, wooden beams, piling brackets, security gate lock repair, and fencing </li><li>Operate various tools such as electric drills, hole saw, jig saw, band saw, hammer drills, hydraulic press, table saw, shop saw, miter saw, air impacts, cable cutters, wire stick welder and cutting torch </li><li>Perform minor plumping repairs to Marina docks water supply lines, sanitary hose lines, replace toilet flanges and water faucets to Marina facilities, to include chemical use such as pipe cleaners, pipe glue, pipe sealant and acid cleaner </li><li>Perform minor electrical repairs to Marina customer rental spaces as well as preventative maintenance to security lighting fixtures on docks and facilities lighting fixtures to include utilizing voltage-multi meter to recognize voltage reading and or amp readings </li><li>Perform Search & Rescue vessels within Marina waters/Corpus Christi Bay/Nueces Bay, as Crew or Captain onboard 30 ft rescue vessel, as required </li><li>Assist with boat tows, boats sinking, and boat grounding </li><li>Respond to bridge jumpers, recovery of drowned or injured persons to include administering first aid or CPR when required </li><li>Utilize equipment such as de-water pump for sinking boats, tow lines, tow bridle, boat hook, skiff hook, emergency flares, binoculars, GPS, radar, depth sound, structure scan imaging, VHF radio </li><li>Organize, schedule, calculate charges/ fees </li><li>Operate 20-ton boat lift crane that provides services to Marina customers </li><li>Perform preventative maintenance to 30 ft marina rescue vessel twin diesel powered engines and onboard equipment, service Kawasaki Mules 4x4, 29 ft boat tandem trailer, gas powered de watering pumps, Honda gas powered generator and 20-ton Marine Travel life </li><li>Provide safety training in the use of Marina tools, equipment, hot & cold weather and the hazards working with electrical hazards around water </li><li>Perform and assist the Harbormaster in supervising other Dockhands in Marina related duties </li><li>May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>· Requires High School/GED </li><li>· Minimum of 2 years of experience </li><li>· A valid driver's license is required.
