<p>Westfield Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for one (1) opening for a RISE Behavioral Program Special Education Teacher at Westfield Middle School.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Under the direction of authorized administrators shall:</p> <ul> <li>Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students. </li><li>Prepare individualized education plans. </li><li>Collaborate with school based related service providers. </li><li>Collaborate with team on curriculum and student needs. </li><li>Assess educational needs of students by use of standardized tools, running records and other informal assessments. </li><li>Maintain complete records of re-evaluation periods, required student documentation and parent communication. </li><li>Integrate technology into instruction. </li><li>Provide differentiated instruction to students as needed. </li><li>Implement school, district and department policies. </li><li>Create and manage effective communication with parents of special education students. </li><li>Create and follow goals and objectives for IEP's, write quarterly progress reports and follow behavior plans with integrity. </li><li>Follow the Westfield Public Schools code of conduct for the classroom which is consistent with established administrative policies and develops rules of classroom behavior which are enforced in a fair and just manner. </li><li>Plans and supervises assignments for classroom paraprofessionals. </li><li>Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the building principal or the Superintendent of schools and/or their designee. </li></ul> <p>REPORTS TO:</p> <p>Building Principal</p> <p>The salary and terms of employment will be commensurate with the Westfield Public Schools Unit A contract. Step placement will be based on the information as submitted in the application.</p> <p>Performance on this position will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Westfield School Committee policy on evaluation.</p> <p>This position subject to funding.</p>
