This includes oversight and system alignment of forecasting, productivity, quality control, contracting, personnel management, planning, facilities management, clinical and operational performance improvement, everchanging regulatory requirements, and patient experience across the division of Pharmacy. The System Director is a strategic, system-level partner across care delivery systems charged in identifying priorities and preparing and implementing strategic and tactical plans for targeted programmatic growth of the division of pharmacy, as well as collaborative, sustained improvement in efficiency, financial performance, clinical outcomes, and patient experience across the UC Health system.</p> <p>Leadership:</p> <ul> <li>Provides vision and leadership to ensure long term system goals and annual objectives and performance indicators are met. </li><li>Provides strategic alignment of initiatives across the health system, including perspectives from each location to ensure inclusiveness. </li><li>Works with system leadership, physicians, pharmacy associates, and other departments to create a culture of trust, collaboration, and high alignment within the organization, resulting in the highest quality of care to patients. </li><li>Defines the roles and responsibilities, as well as the expectations, and goals of each member of the division leadership team. </li><li>Effective in establishing a culture of patient excellence and quality. Creative in developing initiatives for process improvement. </li><li>Implements, in a timely manner, corrective action plans or provides feedback on identified deficiencies in staff or unit performance. Monitors performance improvement and shares results. </li></ul> <p>Operations:</p> <ul> <li>Monitors the productivity to ensure appropriate efficiency of Pharmacy operations in their area of responsibility. Evaluates and takes appropriate action, as needed. </li><li>Ensures programs and services are in compliance with facility/system policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local regulations. </li><li>Effectively prepares, presents, and discusses reports, studies, etc., with Pharmacy division leadership, physicians, Senior Leadership and other appropriate groups and individuals. </li><li>Exercises cost control by using all available data provided to monitor and evaluate variances. Develops action plans when needed and ensures staff participation in cost control activities. </li><li>Monitors personnel expenses and takes appropriate action to offset/mitigate variances to budget. </li><li>Develops and modifies, as necessary, an effective organizational structure to accomplish departmental goals and objectives as well as support efficient operations. </li><li>Oversees, in conjunction with Pharmacy division leadership and IT, all aspects of informatics and information technology functions within their areas of oversight. </li></ul> <p>Medical Staff Relations:</p> <ul> <li>Establishes communication plan for engaging physician leaders in Pharmacy division planning, evaluation, and performance. </li><li>Engages medical staff in planning and evaluation of services. </li><li>Involves physicians in service and quality issues resolution. </li><li>Ensures physician leaders have information, data, and other tools to support and assist them in their roles. </li></ul> <p>Patient Experience & Quality of Care:</p> <ul> <li>Creates a professional practice culture using evidence-based knowledge to achieve clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction. </li><li>Establishes appropriate benchmarks for patient experience, performance improvement, and delivery of pharmacy services within the division of Pharmacy. </li><li>Develops and implements quality control and improvement plans. </li><li>Evaluates program effectiveness, changing and updating as necessary. </li><li>Proactively elicits feedback regarding care delivery. </li><li>Ensures prompt investigation of patient/staff issues and provides follow-up as appropriate to involved staff, patients/family, and physicians. </li><li>Presents Patient Experience, HCAHPS and other pertinent data at leadership and staff meetings. Ensures display of data is evident throughout the departments. </li><li>Integrates staff into process, service, safety and quality initiatives and processes. </li></ul> <p>Planning & Business Development:</p> <ul> <li>Participates in organizational and Pharmacy division strategic planning. </li><li>Oversees project management from business decision stage through final implementation. </li><li>Develops program-specific business and marketing plans, evaluating competition, market, potential revenue, costs, and operational implications to ensure continued market growth. </li><li>Evaluates financial performance of service sites and modalities. Identifies opportunities for growth and consolidation. </li><li>Develops strategic plan for their division of Pharmacy Services in conjunction with physician and health system leadership. </li></ul> <p>Professional Development:</p> <ul> <li>With hospital and physician leadership, develops and implements plans and programs for staff education and growth. </li><li>Identifies areas for professional growth. Remains current in Pharmacy trends and changes, including regulatory and reimbursement changes. Pursues opportunities for leadership skill development. </li><li>Communicates expectations for direct and indirect reports' continuing self-development. </li><li>Provides frequent and meaningful feedback to direct and indirect reports on performance and takes action when appropriate. </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <p>Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree Pharmacy (BS Pharm). Preferred: Master's Degree - Business, Healthcare, or Pharmacy Administration, Pharmacy (Pharm D). Required: Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Ohio. Preferred: Certification: Board of Pharmaceutical specialties certification preferred for specialty area of practice.</p> <p>Experience:</p> <p>Minimum Required: 5 Years equivalent experience.</p>
