As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.</p> <p>Job responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Own the technical strategy and architecture for mission-critical applications, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices </li><li>Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities </li><li>Drive the design and implementation of high-performance backend services using Java and cloud-native technologies </li><li>Champion the development of highly resilient, share-nothing, multi-region architectures to achieve fault tolerance, high availability, and disaster recovery </li><li>Drive the adoption and optimization of MongoDB (including change streams), Kubernetes, and other modern platforms </li><li>Set and enforce standards for API design and development (REST/gRPC), including best practices for versioning, documentation, and error handling to ensure robust, secure, and scalable interfaces </li><li>Guide the integration and management of service registries for dynamic service discovery and orchestration in micro services environments </li><li>Promote the creation of custom frameworks and reusable components to accelerate development and maintain consistency </li><li>Foster Agile, self-managing team practices, driving continuous improvement in processes, tools, and standards </li><li>Manage project delivery, ensuring timelines, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction while identifying and mitigating technical risks </li><li>Represent the engineering team in strategic discussions, influencing technology decisions and roadmap planning </li></ul> <p>Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills</p> <ul> <li>Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience </li><li>Extensive experience in Java and object-oriented programming </li><li>Proven leadership in Kubernetes and cloud-native application development </li><li>Deep expertise in MongoDB, including change streams and schema design </li><li>Strong background in RESTful and gRPC API design and implementation </li><li>Demonstrated experience with API best practices and service registry concepts </li><li>Track record of designing highly resilient, share-nothing, multi-region architectures </li><li>Ability to architect and promote custom frameworks and reusable components </li><li>Experience leading Agile, self-managing teams </li><li>Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field </li><li>Proven experience in senior leadership or engineering management roles </li><li>Hands-on expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices </li><li>UI development experience with modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or similar </li></ul>
