<p>Position Summary & Description</p> <p>The Career and Technical Center at Indiana University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a full-time, grant-funded faculty position at the Instructor rank, serving as a Field Resource Person and providing professional development support covering the West Central and/or Northern portion of the IUP territory for the 2025-2026 academic year.</p> <ul> <li> <p>West Central portion of the IUP territory could include the following:</p> </li><li> <p>AW Beattie</p> </li><li> <p>Beaver</p> </li><li> <p>Butler</p> </li><li> <p>Lawrence</p> </li><li> <p>Mon Valley</p> </li><li> <p>Parkway</p> </li><li> <p>Pittsburgh Public</p> </li><li> <p>Steel Center</p> </li><li> <p>Western</p> </li><li> <p>Northern portion of the IUP territory could include the following:</p> </li><li> <p>Corry Area</p> </li><li> <p>Crawford</p> </li><li> <p>Erie HS</p> </li><li> <p>Erie CTC</p> </li><li> <p>Mercer</p> </li><li> <p>Venango</p> </li><li> <p>Warren</p> </li></ul> <p>Duties:</p> <p>Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Teaching field-based, career and technical teacher certificationcoursework. </li><li>Mentoring career and technical intern teachers predominately in the Central/South-West area of the IUP territory. </li><li>Meeting with career and technical teacher interns at regional career and technical schools and high schools throughout the IUP service region as assigned. </li><li>Observing intern teacher performance in the career and technical classroom using departmental generated observation forms based on the Danielson model and career and technical teacher certification standards. </li><li>Providing professional development in support of the Center's mission. </li><li>Active participation in the department, college, university, and Career and Technical Education Community. </li><li>Advising students regarding certification and coursework. </li></ul> <p>Position Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree plus 15 credits. </li><li>Three years teaching experience in a Career & Technical field (i.e., Trade and Industrial Education, Agriculture, Home Economics Education, Technology Education, Health Occupations, Business Education, Marketing Education, etc.). </li><li>Hold a valid secondary teaching credential in one of the above fields. </li><li>Evidence of leadership experience strongly preferred. </li><li>Candidates will be assigned to perform work at off-campus sites and/or provide instruction through distance education. </li><li>Daily travel to schools in the IUP service region of Western Pennsylvania will be required. </li><li>Assignments to schools will be based upon enrollment. </li><li>Candidates must be work eligible, communicate effectively, and perform well during the interview which may include a teaching demonstration. </li><li>Candidates must also qualify for Act34, 114, and 151 clearances. </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>Academic faculty must have, and maintain the physical and mental abilities, communicative skills, and stamina necessary to carry out the essential functions of their positions in teaching, research, scholarship, and service. Work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve standing to a significant degree, walking for brief periods of time and may include driving requirements.</p> <p>Faculty must be able to:</p> <ul> <li>Teach courses assigned by the departmental chair on a schedule made of a combination of standard class-meeting times as determined to meet instructional needs and adhere to the requirements of the department's curriculum. </li><li>Teach courses for a mandated number of contact hours per week over a full semester and meet university expectations for final exams. </li><li>Present course material in a clear and organized manner using methodologies appropriate to the discipline. </li><li>Evaluate student work fairly and promptly. </li><li>Perform the physical requirements of laboratory, field work, studio work, or other activities outside typical classroom instruction if applicable. </li><li>Maintain current knowledge of the discipline through continued scholarly activity and research. </li><li>Participate actively in assignments necessary to advance the service and/or outreach of the department, college, and university. </li></ul> <p>Special Instructions to Applicants</p> <p>To apply for this position:Please submit a letter of application, a current curriculum vitae, unofficial copies of transcripts, and the names and email addresses of three references via our online application system:https://www.schooljobs.com/careers/iupedu.</p> <p>Automated reference requests and a confirmation email will be generated upon submission of your application.
