<p>Ortho Rhode Island (ORI) has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Physician Assistant to join its dynamic and growing team. The PA will provide clinical and surgical support to a busy, well-established sports medicine/total joint replacement surgeon.</p> <p>This highly regarded practice is committed to delivering superior clinical outcomes and fosters a collegial, team-oriented work environment. The position offers competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits, including five weeks of PTO and a continuing education allowance.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>First Surgical Assistant </li><li>Hospital Admissions and Consultations </li><li>Inpatient Rounds </li><li>Comprehensive evaluation and treatment of a full range of Orthopedic injuries and conditions </li><li>Orders and interprets test/lab studies including X-ray, MRI, CT Scan, EMG/NCS Bone Scan, blood tests, urinalysis, wound cultures and synovial fluid analysis </li><li>Consults with physicians as needed and refers to physicians for more complicated medical cases or cases that are not a routine part of a PA's scope of work. </li><li>Provides therapeutic treatments including oral medications, corticosteroid injections, applications of casts, splints, braces and prescribes physical and occupational therapies </li><li>Performs minor office/emergency room procedures including fracture closed reduction, laceration repair, and I&D of abscess </li><li>Provides patient and family education and instructions. </li><li>Responsible for maintaining patient confidentiality. </li><li>Documents patient encounters according to state & federal guidelines. </li><li>Other Duties as Assigned </li></ul> <p>IND2</p>
