<p>The Department of Mining Engineering at West Virginia University invites applications for a non-tenure track teaching faculty position in mining engineering. Applicants will be considered at the rank of Teaching Assistant or Teaching Associate Professor. This is a nine-month, non-tenure track faculty rank position that is eligible for promotion and merit raises. The position anticipates a level of effort of 80% assigned to teaching and 20% assigned to departmental service.</p> <p>Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, assisting in or leading various recruiting initiatives, engaging in professional service to the Department and College, advising students, and participating in professional development activities that advance the engineering education. The development of a limited research program in the general area of education research either alone or in conjunction with existing faculty in the Department and College is also encouraged.</p> <p>WVU is the state's comprehensive Land Grant University with a main campus enrollment of approximately 29,000 students and a Carnegie Classification of Highest Research Activity (i.e., R1 University). The Department offers degrees at the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. levels.</p> <p>Requirements include an earned Ph.D. in mining engineering by the time of employment which is anticipated to be in mid-August 2025, and a B.S. in mining engineering. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach mining engineering courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, advise students and assist with the Department's recruiting and service activities.
