<p>The Position</p> <p>Arrowhead is seeking a highly motivated molecular biologist to join our growing Bioassays team at our Madison site. The Molecular Biology team supports R&D projects across all sites. The ideal candidate should have 1-2 years of cloning experience with the ability to independently work on multiple constructs simultaneously.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Support in vitro, ex vivo and/or in vivo studies to facilitate drug discovery and development with some independence</p> </li><li> <p>Propose methods and ways to optimize cloning</p> </li><li> <p>Occasionally present research findings to project teams</p> </li><li> <p>Occasionally read relevant scientific literature and propose applications to projects to troubleshoot and solve problems</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a high level of productivity and quality in the lab</p> </li><li> <p>Perform critical experiments</p> </li><li> <p>Primary Molecular Biology Responsibilities:</p> </li><li> <p>Clone plasmid constructs by various methods (Digest/ligation, IVA)</p> </li><li> <p>Perform large-scale plasmid preps</p> </li><li> <p>Autoclave glassware and media</p> </li><li> <p>Manage lab inventory and assist in ordering</p> </li><li> <p>Project documentation</p> </li><li> <p>Work with a small team of scientists, while working closely with other research groups and senior managers</p> </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science in Biology or related field </li><li>3+ years of experience in cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, pharmacology or a related field of biology </li><li>2+ years experience with methods and technologies involving plasmid cloning, AAV packaging, protein expression vectors </li><li>Experience in standard cellular and molecular biology techniques (PCR, Digestion, Ligation, Transformation, DNA isolation) </li><li>Experience in standard microbiology techniques (Bacterial cultures, Autoclaving, Preparing Media) </li><li>Experience with Benchling and Snapgene </li><li>Demonstrated innovation, creativity and resilience in problem solving </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills </li><li>Self-motivated team player with the ability to thrive in a fast paced, multi-disciplinary, matrixed environment </li></ul>
