<p>Description</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Assists the pharmaceutical staff in expediting and delivering quality care to the patients at Danbury Hospital. Ensures that products and services are provided in timely, safe and cost effective manner according to department policies, procedures, and practice standards.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Fills "Below Minimum" reports of the Med Select system utilized by the nursing units to ensure that appropriate levels of medications are maintained. Delivers medications to patient care units and ancillary departments.</p> </li><li> <p>Attends and participates in staff meetings to identify & resolve issues & establish quality improvement processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Receives and processes shipments of pharmaceuticals.</p> </li><li> <p>Deals courteously and tactfully with patients & staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Meets department standards for attendance, punctuality, customer service, telephone communication & cost containment.</p> </li><li> <p>Operates pharmacy information systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Attends safety training and complies with standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>Education: HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT</p> <p>Other Information:</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum Experience: zero to six months </li><li>Must obtain PTCB Certification within 12 months of hire. </li><li>License: Registered Pharmacy Technician </li><li>Within 30 days with CT Department of Consumer Protection for those working in CT </li></ul> <p>Desired: Pharmacy Technician experience. Computer skills, ability to multi-task and work independently</p> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <p>Manual: Some manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity</p> <p>Occupational: Little or no potential for occupational risk</p> <p>Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort.
