<p>DevOps Engineer III</p> <p>FLSA Status</p> <p>Exempt</p> <p>Schedule:</p> <p>This is a hybrid opportunity*</p> <p>Monday through Friday. Work hours will depend on the business hours of the time zone serviced.</p> <p>To the extent permitted by law, the Company may, in its sole discretion, change the work schedule to address business needs.</p> <p>In This Role, You Will:</p> <p>Be responsible for the cloud network architecture design and implementation as well as remediating findings from cloud network security, vulnerability scanning and penetration testing. Work closely and collaborate frequently with distributed cross-functional teams while optimizing our platforms and tooling for speed, usability and reliability to meet the current and future needs of our customers and the business.</p> <p>Responsibilities and Essential Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Take a proactive role in ensuring platform compliance with PCI, OWASP, and ISO 27001 standards. Lead audits, implement necessary controls, and drive continuous improvement in compliance processes. </li><li>Provide strategic guidance and leadership for the configuration, optimization, and maintenance of WAF and reverse proxy infrastructure (NGINX). Define and enforce best practices, mentor junior team members, and lead initiatives to enhance security posture. </li><li>Administer and maintain the Linux environment at an advanced level, including complex troubleshooting, performance tuning, and proactive capacity planning. Mentor and support junior team members in Linux administration tasks. </li><li>Design and implement highly scalable infrastructure solutions using Terraform IaC, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and industry best practices. Lead architectural reviews and ensure scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of solutions. </li><li>Collaborate with development teams to deliver solutions that are reliable, flexible, scalable, and provide low-cost ownership. </li><li>Assume full responsibility for the design, implementation, and operational excellence of critical components within CI/CD pipelines. Drive automation, efficiency improvements, and integration of advanced monitoring and security practices. </li><li>Drive the strategic adoption of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Define and enforce best practices for container security, orchestration, and lifecycle management across the organization. </li><li>Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing support of CI/CD pipelines. </li><li>Author, update, and review comprehensive technical documentation related to processes, architectures, and specifications. Promote knowledge sharing and mentorship within the team. </li><li>Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including developers, QA engineers, and project managers, to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs. </li><li>Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support. Provide escalation support for critical incidents, demonstrating advanced troubleshooting skills and ensuring timely resolution of issues. </li><li>May perform additional functions depending on market demand and staffing in order to provide consistent quality customer service. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; additional, applicable years of experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. </li><li>Minimum of five (5) years of experience in DevOps or relevant experience in IT and SysOps. </li><li>Extensive production experience with advanced AWS networking architectures, including VPC peering, Transit Gateway, and Site-to-Site VPN, to enable secure and scalable communication across multi-account AWS environments. </li><li>Deep understanding of AWS networking services, including VPC, subnets, route tables, security groups, NAT gateways, and load balancers (ALB/NLB), with hands-on experience designing and troubleshooting secure, scalable network architectures. </li><li>Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes workloads on AWS EKS, including cluster provisioning, node group management, Helm chart deployments, and troubleshooting containerized applications in production environments. </li><li>Proficient in managing container images using AWS ECR, including secure image storage, lifecycle policies, and integration with CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and deployments. </li><li>Extensive experience designing, implementing, and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions (or similar tools like GitLab CI/CD and Jenkins) to automate build, test, and deployment processes across multiple environments. </li><li>Strong troubleshooting skills in CI/CD workflows, including root cause analysis of failing pipelines, optimizing build times, and ensuring secure and efficient deployment practices in GitHub-based CI/CD systems. </li><li>Proficient in object-oriented programming and scripting languages, with hands-on experience in JavaScript or TypeScript for building and debugging web application components, automation tools, and CI/CD integrations; Python knowledge is a plus. </li><li>Strong Bash scripting skills for automating infrastructure tasks, deployment workflows, and operational routines, with the ability to write clean, modular, and maintainable scripts; familiarity with Python is advantageous for certain automation tasks. </li><li>Expert-level proficiency with Git, including advanced branching strategies such as Git Flow, pull request workflows, conflict resolution, and collaborative version control in fast-paced development environments. </li><li>Expertise in both Docker and Kubernetes is critical for managing and scaling our containerized application environment. </li><li>Experience implementing robust rollback strategies, including safe deployment practices (e.g., feature toggles, blue-green and canary deployments), Git-based reversion techniques, and CI/CD automation to minimize downtime and risk during production incidents. </li><li>Hands-on experience with Go (Golang) for building efficient, concurrent CLI tools, infrastructure automation, or backend services, with a strong understanding of its use in cloud-native and DevOps tooling ecosystems (e.g., Kubernetes controllers, Terraform providers). </li><li>Experience with network security controls and WAF technologies, including AWS WAF and Alert Logic WAF, to implement protections against common web threats (e.g., OWASP Top 10), configure access control policies, and monitor traffic to public-facing applications. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with vendors, service dealers, customers, and all levels of company staff. </li><li>Self-motivated to learn and asks the right questions to ensure goal achievement is met. </li><li>Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly. </li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to multitask, change direction, effectively prioritize, and meet deadlines with limited direction from management. </li><li>Ability to pay close attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and possess strong and effective organizational skills. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>AWS Solution Architect or Practitioner. </li><li>Experience as SQL/NoSQL admin. </li></ul> <p>#LI-Hybrid #LI-JA2 IND1</p> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
