<p>Description</p> <p>Pediatric Nurse Practitioner -Sharon Hospital</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>To provide medical care to pediatric patients including neonates on Labor and Delivery at Sharon Hospital including emergency services, admission, rounding, discharge, and transfer as appropriate.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assesses the patient's condition by obtaining a complete medical history obtaining physical data and reviewing the patient's medical record. </li><li>Orders the appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures required to evaluate the illness </li><li>Interprets and integrates data to determine the appropriate diagnosis & therapeutic treatment plan. </li><li>Consults with other providers and medical specialists in accordance with the Practice's policies & medical standards to assure patient & physician satisfaction. </li><li>Records all symptoms, objective findings, assessment, treatment plan and other information that is appropriate in the patient's chart & reviews the typed dictation. </li><li>Instructs the patient and family regarding the patients diagnosis, testing, treatment, expected outcome & future prevention. </li><li>Evaluates the outcome of the treatment plan by reviewing diagnostic results, calling the patients and/or requesting a return visit to ensure efficient, timely & cost effective medical care. </li><li>Provides medical guidance to and encourages the continued development of the Practice's, nursing staff, medical support staff & rotating interns as it relates to medical care of the patient. </li><li>Ensures the satisfaction of internal and external customer; </li><li>Promotes the Practice's fiscal viability and supports the achievement of financial goals. </li><li>Performs organizational responsibilities to achieve the Practice's and WCMG missions through a process of total quality improvement. </li><li>Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. </li><li>Attend births on Labor and Delivery unit and provide neonatal emergency services. </li><li>Admit, round, and discharge all babies born on Labor and Delivery daily.
