Backed by our national strength and our local partners' role is to be a steady presence, a source of comfort and guidance, and a partner in celebrating the life and legacy of the person who has passed.</p> <p>The Impact You Will Make</p> <p>The Leave of Absence Specialist provides support to the Everstory team by managing all leaves of absence for the organization. Reporting to the Director of Employee Relations, this role will serve as the initial contact for employee absences, leave requests and will support worker's compensation claims. The LOA Specialist will also provide Employee Relations support with unemployment claims and investigations as needed.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Answer, track and file leaves of absence email requests and supporting documentation. </li><li>Work closely with field management and FMLASource to administer and process leave programs. </li><li>Assist with requests for ADA accommodations. </li><li>Work with employees and field management during the entire leave of absence process including return to work protocol. </li><li>Works with the Risk team for all Workers Compensation cases. </li><li>Follow all company policies including county, state and federal guidelines as it relates to leaves of absences. </li><li>Work with colleagues in HR and field management to assist in areas including employment, Employee Relations, compliance and leaves of absences. </li><li>Complete and request documentation for unemployment claims. </li><li>Complete all verifications of employment. </li><li>Process, track and file department paperwork. </li><li>Take notes for calls and/or investigations to support the Employee Relations Team. </li><li>Support the department and/or management with administrative tasks as needed. </li></ul> <p>Core Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Compassion - Genuinely cares about people; is concerned about their work and non-work problems; is available and ready to help; is sympathetic to the plight of others not as fortunate; demonstrates real empathy with the joys and pains of others. </li><li>Customer Focus - Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; gets first-hand customer information and uses it for improvements in products and services; acts with customers in mind; establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect. </li><li>Ethics and Values - Adheres to appropriate (for the setting) and effective set of core values and beliefs during both good and bad times; acts in line with those values; rewards the right values and disapproves of others; practices what he/she preaches. </li></ul> <p>Role Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Composure - is cool under pressure, does not become defensive or irritated when times are tough; is considered mature; can handle stress; is a settling influence in a crisis. </li><li>Functional/Technical Skills - has the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment. </li><li>Informing - provides individuals information so that they can make accurate decisions; is timely with information. </li><li>Patience - is tolerant with people and processes; listens and tries to understand the people and the data before making judgements and acting; sensitive to due process and proper pacing; follows established process. </li><li>Written Communication - is able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Education and/or Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or Equivalent. </li><li>Some college coursework in HR strongly preferred. </li><li>2 years of experience handling leaves of absences required. </li><li>Experience with FMLA requests and ADA accommodations required. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li>On-site (Support Center, M-F required) . </li></ul> <p>Our Investment in You</p> <p>Everstory Partners is proud to provide our employees with a quality work environment and opportunity for both personal and professional growth.
