<p>Position Summary</p> <p>This position independently directs and administers the Bureau of Offender Classification and Movement, including the initial reception and classification process and the ongoing reclassification of offenders. This includes the classification and movement of all offenders incarcerated in facilities managed by the Division of Adult Institutions, including the Wisconsin Resource Center, and placed into field supervision. This position authorizes the placement and movement of Persons in our Cares in contract facilities (i.e., Federal Bureau of Prisons and county jails) and represents the State of Wisconsin in the selection, placement and ongoing reclassification of Persons in our Cares in such facilities. The position is responsible for maintaining the linkages and relationships between the Division of Adult Institutions, Division of Community Corrections and the Parole Commission. The position represents the office to outside organizations both public and private.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>This position is in pay schedule and range 81-01 with a starting annual salary of $114379 to $124550. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.</p> <p>The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.</p> <p>This position is eligible for telecommuting of up to 3 days per week.</p> <p>Shift: Monday- Friday 8:00am- 4:30pm</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:</p> <ul> <li>Supervising staff such as: hiring, assigning/directing work, completing performance evaluations, participation in disciplinary process etc. </li><li>Conducting risk-needs assessments, evaluations, and/or case planning that may be applied to clients in a social service or correctional setting. </li><li>Managing and making decisions related to administrative functions (work and program planning, compliance, budget, personnel management, etc.) </li><li>Administrating programs while establishing and implementing policies/procedures. </li></ul> <p>In addition to the above, well qualified applicant will have experience:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborating and working with criminal justice, community, public and other agencies. </li><li>Using evidenced-based strategies, data and research to evaluate and guide correctional practices. </li><li>Managing budgetary processes and fiscal management </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>To apply, click on "Apply for Job" to start the application process.
