Join SoCalGas today to share in our mission to build the cleanest, safest, and most innovative energy company in America!</p> <p>Employment Contract</p> <p>Please note that this role is an employment contract for 12 months that is eligible for renewal.</p> <p>Primary Purpose</p> <p>Under the direction and supervision of in-house counsel, perform legal research and writing assignments and assist in civil litigation and administrative law matters.</p> <p>Duties & Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Conducts legal research on issues of procedural and substantive law in various areas of the law, including but not limited to personal injury, premises and products liability, environmental and employment law. </li><li>Prepares briefs, pleadings, written discovery, correspondence, declarations, contracts and other legal documents. </li><li>Interviews witnesses, and prepares witnesses to testify at deposition, hearings and/or trial officers, and public agencies under the guidance and supervision of an experienced attorney. </li><li>Conducts depositions of experts, parties and witnesses. </li><li>Makes appearances before judges, commissioners, hearing officers and public agencies. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties). </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree From a recognized college or university Required </li><li>JD (Juris Doctor) Must have satisfactorily graduated from an ABA credited law school. Required </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>0 - 3 years' Experience as an Attorney Required </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <ul> <li>On-line research (Westlaw, Lexis) Advanced </li><li>Writing Advanced </li></ul> <p>Licenses</p> <ul> <li>Must have passed the California Bar exam.
