<p>Position Summary/Department Summary:</p> <p>The Neuroscience floor is a 31-bed Medical/Surgical Unit with patients ranging in age from newborn up. Patients are from the following primary services: Epilepsy, Neurology, Neurosurgery and Neuro Oncology. Patients originate from the PACU, MICU, NICU, direct admits and through the Emergency Room. Our Neuroscience teams work within the concept of family-centered care, with diagnoses that range from simple to complex. It is an exciting place to learn and grow professionally as we strive to provide exceptional care through evidence-based practices and innovations throughout all our programs.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Under regular supervision and following established procedures and instructions, providing basic direct care to patients as delegated by a Registered Nurse. </li><li>Assisting patients with feeding and hygiene, obtaining, measuring and recording routine information such as temperature, pulse and blood pressure, and performing other related duties according to specific needs of unit. </li><li>Transporting patients, supplies and equipment as needed. </li><li>Identifying and reporting unusual findings or changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse. </li><li>24hrs (3 - 8 hour shifts or 2 - 12 hour shifts); rotating days/nights and every other weekend </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>A HS Diploma or equivalent. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>1 year CA experience, CNA, MA, PCT or EMT certification, or Nursing Student with at least one clinical rotation. </li><li>Good communication skills and the ability to work on a team. </li></ul> <p>NOTE: This is a permanent position and we are unable consider temporary hires, for example, summer only.</p> <p>The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.</p> <p>Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
