If you like to make things happen and are passionate about what you do, you're going to want to be here.</p> <p>Join us and become part of the power behind possible.</p> <p>About The Opportunity</p> <p>This position ensures that safety is the #1 priority of the department.</p> <p>A successful candidate should be able to provide leadership, direction, and forward thinking for the entire corrugator department. Facilitates effective communication that assists in the development and direction of the corrugator team towards a goal of continuous improvement, using the techniques of lean manufacturing, 5's, center lining, waste control standards, preventative maintenance, and process improvement.</p> <p>Key Duties & Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li> <p>Ensures that safety methods and procedures are followed within the department to assure compliance with Menasha and Governmental policies. Includes performing both formal and informal safety and environmental audits, monitoring of lock out/tag outs of power, providing training and instruction to department employees to maintain safety standards and participation in the investigation and resolution of department related safety and/or environmental incidents.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains department staff and staff results by assisting in the selecting, orientating, training and supervising employees. Includes the teaching, coaching, and motivating of department employees and the planning, scheduling, monitoring and appraising of their work results.</p> </li><li> <p>Needs to learn and understand each position in the Corrugator line of progression and may need to work in these positions on the Corrugator when necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Works with Corrugator Area Manager and department personnel to maintain the efficient and continuous operation of the machinery/equipment in producing quality product that meets or exceeds customer (Internal and External) expectations.</p> </li><li> <p>Works closely with the Corrugator Area Manager to develop and execute day-in-and-day-out machine maintenance and preventive maintenance program (PM's) to assure efficiencies and quality levels meet or exceed plant standards. Meet on a weekly basis to ensure maintenance activities improve processes and are complete.</p> </li><li> <p>Works with Corrugator Area Manager on the supply inventory to assure we have adequate operating supplies to support our business needs. Includes the assurance that materials required for operations are available, yet not in excess and that downtime is prevented because of a shortage.</p> </li><li> <p>Adheres to production schedules and advises the Corrugator Area Manager of any problems.</p> </li><li> <p>Reviews and analyzes reports and data and makes recommendations to improve.</p> </li><li> <p>Sees that all equipment and storage areas associated with the Department are in proper operating condition. Includes the maintenance of proper housekeeping within the Department and its support areas to meet customer and internal expectations. Includes periodically inspecting all work and storage areas to ensure safety and minimize damage.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversees the accuracy of department related reports. Including timesheets, parts requests, work orders, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts relevant department team meetings and training including safety related training.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates on a frequent basis with other supervisors and other departments, so open communication lines remain between individual groups. Includes participation in any related meetings.</p> </li><li> <p>Recommends department related policies and procedures to Corrugator Area Manager.</p> </li><li> <p>Manages the activities and training of all team members ensuring top performance and efficiencies. Assists in the completion and updating of "Job Task Analysis" for all department positions.</p> </li><li> <p>Work with the corrugator area manager to determine annual goals and objectives for the department and document results.</p> </li><li> <p>Act as role model of the "excellence process" by showing respect for peers and team members, looking for win/win/win solutions and building synergy in relationships with others by being receptive to new and innovative ideas and processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a quality focus and be directly involved in any complaints. Establish processes so complaints are minimized to the lowest level. Know and understand all tests necessary to manufacture a quality product and ensure that routine testing and documentation is a part of the process.</p> </li><li> <p>Continue to attend training in our industry and continue training in self-development (Computer skills, Supervisory skills, Interpersonal skills).</p> </li><li> <p>Willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs all other duties as requested by the Corrugator Area Manager.</p> </li></ol> <p>Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Desired</p> <ul> <li>Reviews and analyzes reports and data and makes recommendations to improve. </li><li>Ability to thoroughly troubleshoot and communicate with machine support services if needed </li><li>Ability to effectively work effectively with a team and resolve conflict when necessary </li><li>Ability to interact and communicate effectively with coworkers at all levels </li><li>Ability to perform all computer functions as they pertain to the job </li><li>Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner </li><li>Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business </li></ul> <p>Compensation & benefits:</p> <ul> <li>The starting wage for this position is $31.90/hour, plus $1.00/hour shift differential with opportunities for advancement. </li></ul> <p>Two companies, one vision.</p> <p>Menasha Corporation consists of two companies that are leading the way to a sustainable future with packaging and supply chain solutions.
